first grow and its about 3 weeks in how long should i veg and how long should i flower? using 4 tl5 ho/54w/865 halide for veg and 4 tl5 ho/54w/840 sodium flowering?any help greatly appriciated!!!
It all depends on your set up. got to remember that the plant will almost double in size when you flip em. and for how long to flaower the only lady who can help you out with that is your plant. some are ready in 45 days. some can take up to 90 days for a hard core sativa. The hairs will turn brown, or red. When it is about 50/50 start looking at the tricromes under a loop or glass, when they go from clear to cloudy they are getting ready.
You have a little over 200 watts of hps light to flower under? If so probably you should flip them soon but if just one plant it depends on the size. BOG
lights should i put 2 halide and 2 sodiums in?when i firts started the seeding didnt light both lights so someone told me to put the 4 halide bulbs in and in flowering put 4 sodium bulbs its a 4' fixture that hold 4 4' bulbs new wave is company of fixture any help ?thanks agin
Put it this way, twice the lights will almost certainly result in twice the buds. The more lights the better. The real issue is heat. Gotta keep those temps under control. I advise putting your plants into flower when they are about half the size you want them to be when finished. Not all strains double during flowering time, but most do from my experience, especially when flowered rather small. PEace....
It actually also depends on the strain...mostly on Indica to Sativa ratio I would say. When I grew a mostly sativa plant I started 12/12 when the plants were 12 inches tall. They grew 7'2" tall at the end and flowered for 7 weeks. For more Indica ration I would let them get 10" tall and start 12/12 then
Is it just me, or does it sound like Andre is using flourescent lights and calling them Halide and Sodium? I'm confused!
It's ok T.H., so is andre. I've never heard of a 4 foot MH or HPS bulb, expecially with such low wattages. And then there's the TL5 part that he posted, that sounds more like i's describing a T5 4 foot flouresent bulb.
Wait a sec. Are you saying you had a plant that went from1 foot tall to over 7 feet tall in 7 weeks under 12/12 cycle?
...thats correct, ranger. Actually the tallest plant hit the 7 foot mark on day 62 (when day 1 is first day of 24x7 of light). This is because I use Ebb & Flow hydro system and perfect growing conditions. I also use GH nutrients and normally lower my pH from 6.5 on day to 5.9 on the last two weeks. By the way i have a pic of my setup in my gallery. The plants really grew fast in the mid stage of flowering. There was a week when they grew ~4 inches daily.
