Ive heard great things and I have heard bad things about it....anyone been? anyone live there??good buds(im sure its better than US buds)???? good times???? I'd really like to get an opinion from anyone in AUS......i bought my plane ticket.........i leave October 7th and i come back Oct. 27th........i have 20 days in AUS.......I fly into sydney...where my friend is going to UNI at...i Know I wanna go to west OZ to catch some swell.....but mostly wanna go to NIMBIN to just hang out and relax in a good atmosphere.. if that mean missing out on some swell it dosent matter.....any suggestions....any advice would be greatly appreciated..........peace and vision

you shuld go to Byron Bay too, Nimbin is commercial hippy stuff and also slums... so you have a bit of both
Nimbin these days from what i hear is full of hardcore drug dealers and kids from the city fucked up on heroin etc. and byron bay is just like going down to any touristy beach spot, but chicks on the beach there wear less...
I recently visted Nimbin for the first time and I loved it! My tip is not to venture into town until around lunch time. We made the mistake of getting there really early - I am talking like 8am. Nothing was open and the locals were just doing there morning thing and we stuck out like sore thumbs, being tourists and all. Also, if someone asks you if you want to buy pot and you don't - DO NOT IGNORE THEM!!!!! Just say - thanks, but I am good - and they will leave you alone. I didn't buy any actual pot while I was there, but picked up a few cakes and chocolates and they were ok - not great, but they did the job. Check out the museum I thought that rocked and if your into art the gallery is awesome. I suggest just visiting Nimbin, but staying in Byron Bay. Arts Factory Backpackers is awesome, we stayed there and had a blast with all the other campers etc. So, have fun and do enjoy this wonderful country of ours! P.S. Make sure you visit Queensland!!!
(strawpuppy's daughter) Fair play to you!!! Ive just come back from Oz and i had the best time in my life. I started in thailand and travelled the islands its amazing. Oz is a great place, you have to visit Nimbin its awesome if you love smoking weed!!! Also Byron Bay, Port Macquarie are great. There's so much thats amazing that i could go on forever! Im gutted to be back in England the weather sucks!!! Im heading to America in November. Nimbin rocks
Hey dude Nimbin is one way cool town and the atmosphere is really hype I'm 17 went there for and hour and had more fun than I have had in a lifetime. Don't change your mind about going there because if you do you are making a big mistake. See ya down under Aussie chick

So you should go there either on your way to Sydney or on your way home.
thanks for the advice brothas and sistahs......i cant wait.....swell in OZ and buds in nimbin...ill be sure to check out the musuem...anyone in OZ wanna show a tourist around PM me and ill be down for an adventure....and a surf or good swell....and i really want to hit up superbank for a session or two....i still cant get over hearing about a 1 minute ride....i think im going to extend my stay another month if my plans work out......i hope so.....peace and vision
