Does anyone have any tried-and-true ideas for what to use to condition a leather couch? I was seriously just thinking of using some Crisco...

If it isn't too expensive, an ointment made for nursing mother's nipples called "Lansinoh" is fantastic. I've always gotten free samples from the company for my clients and things, so I always had more than I needed (but they're cutting back on free samples now) but, I use it on my Birkies, and it is great.

I don't know how much you would need for an entire couch. I use it because I'm allegic to regular Lanolin, (Lansinoh brand doesn't cause allergies) but, if you aren't wool allergic, you might be able to just get a cheap lanolin ointment. It works for sheep and nipples. It would most likely be good for your couch.

Butter? My cats would NEVER leave that couch alone if I did that. Not saying it wouldn't work though.

Thanks for the ideas so far people; keep them coming..or maybe this should be moved to the household tips forum?
