My true confession is that I do not know how to braid. I want to braid my hair beautifully and do cute things with it. I want to braid my daughters hair too. I would like to learn how to braid.
Take three strands, one on the left, one on the right, and one in the middle. Take the left piece and move it (on top) to the middle. Then do the same with the right. Keep alternating the left and right strands, always moving them to the middle. That's how my mom taught me when I was a kid, and all other braids are just more compilcated variations on this basic one.
