First of all, thanks to all the members who post here. I have been browsing posts for a while and I have learned a ton. However, there are some plants that are now sick and I can't diagnosis the pro. They look sickly in general, wilting, and have large rust colored burns on the leaves, the tips are curling downward. It looks like it might be an MG problem or maybe Nute burn. I can't really tell. There are 3 plants in rock wool burried in potting soil. The plants streched severely because for the first 3 weeks they were grown with light from one floro tube. Light is now from a 600 HPS. They are 5 weeks old. I have pictures, but can't post them because of the file size limit. Is there a simple solution for this?
As far as I know, no. I just moved in with housemates, when the plants were 3 weeks old. Maybe they used some sort of high nute potting soil. They haven't been fed for about 5 days now. I was thinking of transplanting them into individual pots with coco fiber.
The roots are probably too intertwined to seperate them at this point. Try a good flushing and then add epsom salts (about 2 teaspoons per gallon of water). That looks like a Magnesium deficiency - epsom salts should fix it in a few days. What kind of soil are they in and what type of nutrients are being used? Be careful not to overfeed or overwater.
TH, why would you o out on a limb to see if miricle grow was used? Anyways, I'm betting it's a PH issue. Looks like a mag def, but also possibly a calcium def, the picture was kinda fuzzy. Looks like either a sulfur def or too much of a temp change in the yellowing tops. As for the curl in the leaves, could be overwatering. I'm betting the wilty leaves has to do with the big change in light and heat emitted from the light. How far are the tops of the plants from the HPS?
hey bro you have too many plants in that one pot! two might be fine but three your for sure gonna have some problems. the roots are gonna get intertwined and one or two plants are gonna die. i would try and remove one or all and seperate them but it might be too late from the looks of the pictures. Also you are overfeeding them from the looks of the tip burn. luckily its just a little burn it will recover fine. but im worried about the plants in that one pot. man if i were you i would consider trying to remove one or two. The best way to remove roots from seperating is to put the rootballs in a big sink full of water and let the roots fall off the dirt and then you can seperate . but you must immedialty put right back into new soil . also make sure the water is nice and cool NOT COLD! barely warm. now this might shock your plants for a couple days but they will recover fine and live on. ive done this so i speak from experience
and the reason that the leafs are curling down is because of over watering. feed every 3 to 4 days. people make the mistake of overwatering quite often by feeding daily or every two days. if you feed every two days only feed a small amount dont water the whole pot.
lol ya i know right! but naw from those pice they werent even budding yet. so they might be barely preflowering by now. I hope he comes back and tells us what happened.
