freebasing tryptamines (dpt, dmt)

i've had some pretty good return with freebasing dpt hcl (7 parts dpt hcl to 1 part NaOH). would this work just as well with dmt hcl? has anyone ever freebased a tryptamine before? dmt hcl is almost useless without an maoi and i'm not in the mood to trip 6-8 hours on dmt, i've never even done it. dpt hcl works ok insufflated, but dmt hcl? i havnt seen any info on it.

 

I have tried to freebase 5-meo-dipt by putting it in ammonia and mixing it running the solution through a coffe filter drying it out and scraping the crystals off and smoking it works good enough I guess has a pretty shitty return though so I don't do it much as 5meodipt is hard to get these days.

 

And to tell you the truth smoking plain old foxy from a lightbulb gets me thresh-hold effects, freebasing it and smoking it for me anyways using my method gets a little more than thresh effects but it is nothing like smoked 5-meo-dmt for example, as one report on erowid says it is when smoked.

 

It should work fine insufflated or IM, but are you sure you have DMT HCL? Tihkal gives me the impression it's next to impossible to make.

 

The root bark extraction makes dmt HCL at first that needs to be converted to freebase so it isn't that hard to get hcl form. You should read the students dmt extraction article on erowid.

 

Right, but that's the hcl in solution. That quite different from obtaining the pure salt. Obviously you could evaporate the water layer, which would give you the hcl, but I wonder how stable it would be.

 

I'm sure it would probably be just as stable in air as it is in water, but that is just a guess.

 

DMT is not incredibly stable in water.

 

Here is what I got from your conversion technique spectre, I hope I'm not poisoned

350mg DPT hcl dissolved into 25mL of H2O. 1/7th the mass of DPT hcl, 50mg of NaOH was added. Instantly created a cloudy precipitate. Swirled and shook. I then poured the milky solution into a shallow dish to evaporate. After all was evaporated, I scraped it up and let the gooey crystals dry some more under the lamp. This is what I got out of it ^^^^ The total mass after conversion is.....1.05g. Please, anyone tell me how I got over a gram when I only put in 400mg of material....

It doesn't smoke very well. It starts to smoke and I take a long and deep inhalation. I feel the effects, way more than the HCL. I feel slightly sick and my heart rate rises quite a bit. The only problem is, of all the freebasing stories I've read. My experience with basing also puts together that these crystals should melt when heated. They did not.....they turned white and solidified even more. I took the white rock out and crumbled it. It feels waxy, like it should.

I'm just VERY confused.....

 

i dont think DMT HCl would work tell where insufflated or IM. yeah, im sure its DMT HCl though.

 

oh, and what juicyjay has is DPT freebase, NaCl, and water. in other words, the reaction was perfect!

 

when converting DMT freebase to hcl, or vice versa, you should use less solvent/reagent, than with DPT.

I love doing liquid/liquid extractions, sep funnel work. I had a blast converting DPT hcl to freebase; put it on dried parsely, and took bong rips. the entire room looked like it was underwater.

hey phenresearch, u said u smoked dmt from a lightbulb? ive heard shit about lightbulbs before, i never understood it. how do u smoke from a lightbulb? also in the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, thomson smoked just the lightbulb itself, how do u get high off of that,whats in it? any1 know this shit?

 

I wouldn't smoke the white shit in a lightbulb I think it is really bad for you and doubt it will get you high.

There are two or three ways to smoke from a lightbulb. You can shatter the bulb and take the biggest peice of glass left, wash the white shit off with salt and water and then dry the bulb. You put the shit you want to smoke on the glass and hold the glass in the farthest corner from the shit you want to smoke, then you hold a lighter under the shit you want to smoke (so it touches the glass of the bulb but not the substance) and it will melt. Then after it melts if you leave the flame long enough it will start to smoke and you take a hollowed out pen and inhale the smoke as it comes off the peice of glass. This is how most people I know smoke meth when they can't find a glass dick (slang for a meth pipe.)

The other way is to hollow out the full bulb with out breaking the glass (or breaking just the very top peice of glass). I have done this with siccors by tearing the metal part off the lightbulb and then hollowing the bulb out by thrusting the siccors into what is left after you remove the metal part. Then I used a thin chostick to tear the insides of the lightbulb up and just dumped them out, it might take a while. Then you have just a hollow lightbulb with an open top. I can get it clean just using water but most everyone I know fills it up a quater ways with salt and shakes it around and then uses water to clean it out the rest of the way. Maybe it depends on the type of bulb but you want it clean and you want all the white powdery shit to be gone, smoking that is very bad for you I am pretty damn sure. Then you let it dry out. Now using this you can either put shit in the bulb and put a pen inside the bulb and smoke it pretty much the same way as with the peice of broken lightbulb (the advantage being all the shit you melt will pool up in the center of the bulb making it easier to smoke and you will have less risk of getting the glass to hot for your fingers to hold) or you can take a torch or something and blow a hole in the side of the lightbulb. I have never been able to blow a hole in the side of the lightbulb with out shattering the full fucking thing but I have seen people with bulbs with holes in them and they say they blew holes in em with a torch so I guess it can be done. With these you just smoke it like a regular glass dick, a bit of advice is maybe to leave the rim of the metal on so you have something besides glass to put to your mouth.

Also you can blow your own glass dicks (meth pipes, which work great for research chemicals also, although so do lightbulbs) by using a blow torch and a test tube or a peice of pyrex glass in the general shape of a test tube or one of those tubes at your local seven eleven that have those little roses in them. meth users around my part of the country call em rose tube pipes and they are by far the most popular thing to smoke meth out of. Take the rose out and discard it get the tip red hot with a blow torch and blow as hard as you can into the tube (wear saftey glasses I would although many people don't I know one guy who had it blow up in his face though so better safe than sorry). Keep blowing into the tube untill it makes a sphere shape at the end then let it cool. When it is cooled put the blow torch on part of the sphere untill it is red hot and starts to drip into the pipe, then blow as hard as you can and this part of the glass will sort of shoot out and make a hole in the pipe. Now you have a meth pipe way to go! I have made one using glass cigar tubes but never using a rose tube but I know it can be done as like nine out of ten glass pipes in my state are made from seven eleven rose tubes. PEACE OUT.

 

Be carefull with trying to blow a hole into a lightbulb with your mouth. although I have seen people with lightbulbs like this the two times I tried to do it the lightbulb shattered and I could of got cut probably so it is really stupid in all reality. I have no idea how those people managed to get a hole in such a thin peice of glass without it shattering....anyone have anything to say on this?

 

just get a vacuum flask (on eb...put teh check in search title and descriptions) , stopper the top with a rubber stopper (w/hole, of course), and you'll have your base pipe

 

those lightbulbs that are meant for ovens work good i think. some have that frost on them though. it works real good for dpt base, im excited to try it with dmt.

 

I am able to buy very cheap DIPT HCl, how many parts do I need for freebase??
