This will probably sound like a dopey question. I tend to burn a lot of incense in my room while listeining to muisc, I never usually open the door or windows (to keep the yummy smell in) so my room ends up in a smog of incense smells.

So what I was wondering was does the smoke that you breathe in damage you in any way!!! could be similar to stopping in a room fulll of smokers!! yeah I know incense are supposed to be made from natural substances but can breathing in large amounts affect your lungs in any way........

Yup it's not good for you. I can't remember the details, but all those priests who wave incense around all day every day die real early

We burn incense at my academy all the time. It is good if done in moderation!

I don't think any form of smoke inhilation is particularly good really. Natural incense probably isn't carcinogenic like cigs, but burning it will still produce chemicals that the body isn't used to. And those pesky free radicals just love shit like that.

(Ooh, learned something new about free radicals from my friend Joss today: Apparently what they do is travel around the body stealing electrons from cells! Literally swiping them making the cell kinda useless. Anti-oxidents put the electron back!)

Back to the incense...Another thing is that no matter how natural the ingredients may be, there has to be some mad-made tomfoolery going on to convert those ingredients into sticks of incense. I don't know what, but it will have an un-natural reaction.

I wouldn't let all that put you off, but I'd certainly suggest having a bit of ventilation. Or perhaps try and make the switch to scented oils, which are surely more pure.

Yep, it's bad for you, all smoke inhalation is damaging for your lungs. I think a little incense wouldn't be a bad thing, but definitely not every time you're in your room....
