there's a nice wooded area right next to my house once you go inside it's quite quiet and natural i like to find a nice tree, sit back and relax, maybe smoke a bowl, just be a peace with myself and nature
Hehehe.. Otis Redding anyone? Don't worry if you're too young to get that. Best place I had used to be an old graveyard near where I lived for a while.. bloody awesome place and usually really quiet unless it was a sunday. Now, I live in the middle of a city and don't really have anywhere to go that isn't already inhabited by crackheads and/or thugs.
I have a spot in almost every state. In Texas, theres alot of hill country around Austin, so I just set up camp and hide in the hills for a weekend. When Im in Santa Fe New Mexico, theres this awesome park behind a subarb area, theres alot planted trees and a man made lake with kewl fish and turtles. Arizona, I like to go to Quartzesite and trip in the desert looking for shiny rocks. California, theres no place like BigSur Redwood Forest, right by the coast. I like sitting at the edge of the cliffs, with my closest family, (much love to Gus) and bounce energy of the ocean.... Oh and the levees in Louisiana, kick ass.....
I don't have a spot either I used to hide under my desk when I needed to think, or sit in my wardrbobe. But towards the end, it jsut got too uncomfortable and now I'm too big! I need a spot, but I live in the sort of area you need to be able to get far from in order to have a spot *sigh* so I sit on my bed and pretend
There is a lovely old cemetary about a block away from my house. I really like it there, but I hardly have the time. Now that I am working full time, I spend most of my hours at the library.
Hell yeah. I love those special "spots". I grew up in the country and use to have a lot out in pastures or down by creeks. These days, I don't really have much of a spot. There is this one really cool place a few miles outside of town near a bridge that my friends and I go sometimes. That's only about once a year though.
my favourite spot is a place at the end of my long bike trail. right next to the river there's this huge boulder that's awesome to sit on and look at the river and trees (especially this time of year when the trees are changing colour). I don't go there often, but it feels like home when I'm there
yes. the (very polluted) man-made lake down the road from my house. the closest thing we got to nature here i guess. i go there to walk the dog, smoke pot, think, or just hang out. somewhat old pics but oh well im not in any of these pics. but yeah. thats my lake
Currently my spot would be a little hideaway dock in the Wooly Hallow National Park here... lovely place.
my spot when I'm home (in new jersey) is down street sitting looking out into the bay. Its very peaceful if you go down there on late summer night.
In Texas, it was Coffee Dreams. They had a little conference room (more like a really comfy place to sit), and we'd all convene there, play cards, talk about life. They had a local musician come every Saturday night, really good acts; in fact, I wrote my first news article there. And it was the only place that would serve their stuff to you in an actual glass mug (none of that flimsy styrofoam) if you were staying in to drink your coffee. It must have been an old warehouse, because the ceilings were all metalwork and bare. And they had beautiful local art hanging on the walls, with price tags on the corners. Here in North Carolina, though, it's definitely the beach during the off season. Nobody's ever there, and it's just this real nice high when you stand at the edge of a wave, and your toes feel the sting of broken shells, and the wind practically picks you up. It's the only time when I can fall asleep without a blanket n' pillow, and it's the only time when I really enjoy a smoke. The beach intensifies everything - your emotions, your physical awareness, the connection you have to your very own soul. There's nothing purer.
