How in the fucking hell can you do that? That pansy ass makes Mariah Carey's voice seen like Johnny Cash's. And the intro to that fucking song- 'My life is brilliant. My life is brilliant My love is pure." If somebody wrote that song to me I would rip off their dick, dip it in salt, and sew it back on and then, rub their vocal chords against a rusty cheese grater, of course before I bashed their head in with a cast iron skillet.

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:$

Basically their vocals (they both have high voices in case you folks haven't heard one or the other), and lyrical creativity. James Blunt does hasn't obtained that quality yet.

it seems to be stupid... but put yourself in the brain of somebody who compare The Supremes with Beyonce Knowles or Black Sabbath with Papa Roach or Nickelback with Nirvana...Guns n Roses with The Darkness ... Judas Priest with Jane's Addiction... suddenly it all make sense  ... it s crystal clear for demented people...

4 somebody who know only 20 musical artist in the world... to compare Blunt with Young seems to be logic... the reason is the lack of musical culture...

The last disc who buy those kind of people are maybe Lou Bega & Haddaway:eek: hehe!

I imagine that the hate behind James Blunt is partially exagerate... i dont particulary like his record... but the main problem is not James Blunt... a large part came from the short radio list of songs

20-30 years ago Radios were passing often 50 different tracks a day...
Now it s just 20 for a lot of them... They dont offer much diversity... Radio tell you what to hear to like & to buy... Music for them is like a semi-desert with one survivor Tree every km...and some fuckin dry bushes

The hate of Jame Blunt came in a big part of the excess of radios (& music televisions) who pass the same song many times in the same day... so how can u control your nerves after 100days overloaded brain of the same things...

It reminds me the Guantanamo camp were the US army put the terrorist ... one of their fave way to make them speak.... was to make them listen always the same record or song... often heavy metal music... the poor arabis they often break down

We re in the way to became sweet terrorist... and the radio slowly are becoming an army of tie-men runnin after money...of course they dont care of our ears

Terrible. James Blunt is a joke. He has the most obnoxious voice I have ever heard, and he has the poet skills of a moldy dierreah encrusted old towel.

you all forget that a critic's job is to make a connection for a musically semi-literate audience.
I have a devil of a time with my articles about Ellis Paul, Joe Jencks, Tha Musemeant, etc.
    Even JGB.
I'm struggling with tuva throat singers.
So I could take the easy way out and invoke Woody Guthrie, Grateful Dead and a didjeridoo, but the audience I write for might not know about Woody aside from this land is your land! let alone the Dead or a diger-what?
so, what does a writer do? find the commonality that is popular.
Plus don't ya know Blunt was honored by that?

That's madness! I doubt we'll be talking about James Blunt in 40 years. Does he write his own stuff? I read that Beautiful was co-written the other day.
