haha a few things, but nothing too bad.

    - when i was in primary school i forgot my tennis shoes (i went to a private school) and had to play tennis barefoot as a punishment. what a well-fitting but awful punishment! the concrete was so hot it actually BURNT... spent the lesson balancing on the less-hot paint lines, and standing on my racket when the teachers weren't looking :p

    - cut my big toe on a piece of glass in a kids' playground of all places. didn't realise what had happened until it started feeling a bit funny...

    - was walking in the countryside (with shoes on), stood in some kind of contaminated gross-smelling water that was coming from a nearby town, so took my shoes off as they were soaked, and i didn't want any infections. then had to walk about 3km home...the fields were okay, but then i hit tarmac. by the time i got home my feet burnt because they were so sore :(

have had all the other usuals, glass, grass thorns (hate them!), regular thorns... but you get used to it ;)

a pair of flip-flops in your bag is always useful! feet weren't designed when cities were...

I used to skateboard barefoot all the time. one time I left my board out in the hot (really hot) sun for a few hours mid day, and not thinking about it jumped on it, realized I was blistering my feet, jumped off and into a huge amount of gravel. blistery, gravely feet make for one unhappy mama (mainly just because I couldn't go barefoot for a few days:$ )

well, i've cut myself on rocks in my pond quite a few times, but i've never stepped on big glass, just little slivers around my mom's stained glass work downstairs. but i've also stepped on bees and they hurt pretty bad. i'm not sure what hurt worst, though.

I spent a summer in Baja California.. Never wore shoes...(actaully I had not worn shoes 2 years leading up to this trip) Stepped on glass, tacks, fire, scolding pavement whatever.. no problem my shite was TOUGH.... until I stepped on a dead puffer fish on the beach. It penetrated my 1/8 - 1/2 inch natural skin soles... my leg went numb for about 2 hours..(up to my knee),, I used a rzor blade to try and cut into my foot and get the puffer needle out. I never got it out..

6 months later a small hole opened on the bottom of my foot.. like a black head... I squeezed it and a 1/4 inch (hollow white plastic looking needle) puffer needle came out of my foot...

Victory... I guess my body had enough and was pushing that NEEDLE out....
