i know there have been many posts before about this, but now i want to add on.
i had never had a problem with acne, but this month, right as i got my period, oh boy.
i have this one pimple about which i am particularly concerned. it's huge and hard and on my forehead (of couse, smack in the middle of my face). it has no head and shows no sign of changing any time soon. how do you get rid of a MONSTER like this? it's not just your average pimple - it's hard and it hurts. ouch. ugh.

i was looking through earlier posts and thought i might try the aspirin + a.c. vinegar. at this point, i need the strongest thing available!

    suggestions?

One big pimple isn't a concern. Just let it run it's course and don't pick at it.

And don't freak out - be thankful that you got to 25 without having an acne problem!

Take a hot shower and that should open your pores and then the pimple should form into a white head and then you can pop it.

Eating healthy foods really helps. Also, drink lots of water.

Also remember that it was around your period. I have great skin, until Auntie Flow pays a visit! Then its zit city. Your hormones can fluctuate so much. It may be the older you get, the crazier your hormones are becoming. Atleast that's what my family doctor told me!

yeah, all true! i do eat well and drink water. i went a little crazy, went to cvs and bought some nutregena stuff, which is something i don't typically do. doesn't seem like it's working, but eh, time will heal this sucker. it's humbling actually; i'll use it for it's zen qualities.

carrot juice. My eating habits have gone down hill the past few weeks and I noticed I am totally broken out. I used to have a huge glass of carrot hjuice with vanilla protein powder in the morning and the only thing I did is trade that in for a latte and a bran muffin...so I am assuming carrot juice is a wonder drug

Yeah, I have heard of the carrot juice remedy, too. When I have acne attack, I eat raw carrots and I seem to notice that my acne heals faster. For others, it's drinking carrot juice.

I hear for some people cutting out dairy solves it, but that seems to be with more major acne conditions.

    Try Tea Tree oil.
Smells awful but works wonders for acne.

make sure it has Vitamin E in it. To help with scarring.

Tea tree oil is an amazing all rounder - use it on acne, wounds, to keep headlice from infesting in your hair... it can be used for so many things!
Lavender oil is another good one for acne.:)

    Really?
Maybe it is to harsh for your skin type

Maybe try steaming your face to open your pores, then applying a diluted mixture of tea tree and maybe witch hazel? then rinse it off
Or witch hazel just by itself.

Or maybe try a bit of lemon juice. It drys up acne and has anti-bacterial properties. It will probably sting a bit.
Dont leave it on for to long Lemon lightens skin pigment if left on for long.

Keep your sheets & pillows clean.

    Drink water.

Eat well, avoiding dairy as mentioned.

    Wash your face twice daily.

Agrimony (herb) or of or make a tea & put on face.

Hot showers as well (but be careful if you have high chorine water, as you will inhale it in the shower..I have a filter)

Ummm, sal I can think of.

A little jojoba oil as moisturizer if you're a dry-skinner. Not too much though. Jojoba rocks.

    Routine is key though...indeed.
