Just finished Gitlin's "The Sixties: Years of hope, days of rage".

Brought out a few facts that I didn't know, but, strangely, I found it lacking in the true driving force of the day.

That's awesome, I'm just starting to read that book, brought it awhile ago. I know it's filled with many information but I guess it's not as interesting when it's just boring facts that aren't well interesting.. heh

    Doubletalk? You speak newspeak?

I'm reading Nietzsche Contra Wagner now. Pretty much done with it, I've got the complete works of Arthur Rimbaud waiting to be finished when I'm done. Peace.

Since I'm leaving for Thailand on vacation tommorrow night, I'm reading a Lonely Planet book about that country, and "The Beach." I have no clue when I'll finish "The Beach."

Wow, you all have bad taste in literature. And by bad I mean really awesome. :) I've just finished Kerouac's "On the Road" and "The Dharma Bums" and I've got the urge to grab a backpack and a sleeping bag and hitchhike across the country. He just does that to me. I heard Desolation Angels is fantastic, but I haven't yet read it. I'm reading Hemingway's "The Green Hills of Africa," Paulo Coehlo's "The Alchemist," and I just finished "The Fairy Tales of Herman Hesse." That was incredibly decent as well. Yay for literacy, this thread really made my day!
