What's the best chocolate in the universe? My favourite is ASDA smart price chocolate probably, closely followed by either Dairy Milk or Galaxy. But I can't decide between the two. Can you?

You're kidding about Asda smart price?[IMG] That must have cocoa solid content of about minus 5%...

For me it's dark chocolate at the moment:eek: Lindt Excellence or Green & Black's[IMG]

Nope, I like that, and at 25p a bar, it's a 'bar'gain. I hate dark chocolate, and am less a fan of continental chocolates with high cocoa contents. Have you ever tasted raw cocoa bean? They taste like a cross between shit and piss. I don't know how anyone got the idea to turn them into a massively popular confectionary. The more full cream milk and sugar the better I reckon....

Much prefer Galaxy to Cadbury, but Lindt is my favourite , especially the liqueur bars and I like Green & Black's but a couple of pieces is enough at any one time. Most delicious chocolate ever was a German Christmas bar, full of cinnamon and other spices...so pleased it isn't readily available, otherwise I'd be a right pig.

I agree, with dark chocolate it's quality not quantity. If you're going for a full-on stuff fest it has to be milk chocolate. I couldn't go near Tesco or Asda own brand though, that stuff is like cardboard ... in fact it probably is cardboard:D

My favourite would be Green & Blacks milk chocolate.

Regarding the majors I would always choose Cadbury's, not quite as sickly sweet as Galaxy. I do feel though that english chocolate is generally too sweet for my pallet.

Galaxy...I don't know what they do to make it taste different, but it tastes far sweeter. Though I remember absolutely loving that Milka stuff that has the purple cow on the wrapping when I was young.

Oh, and I agree with you on dark chocolate, Sal. If milk chocolate hadn't been made, chocolate would be one of those "it seemed a good idea at the time!" things :p

On that note, what's the difference between milk and white chocolate?

(edit) Never mind, I just found out...something to do with not using a part of the cocoa that's used in dark and milk chocolate.

I've not seen it since I went to London. I think they must have stopped stocking it everywhere in West Yorkshire :(

Out of the two I'd pick Galaxy... I do love Finnish chocolate the most.. but that's just cos I'm used to it...

At the moment my favourite has to be Lindt Excellence 85% or even 99%, tho... hardcore!! :p

Man, that is tricky as hell. The Co-op's fair trade range is pretty damn tasty, especially the white with rice or crunchy milk. But I don't know 'bout that other question. I guess if I'm pushed...and it's just milk vs milk (none of that mint stuff) then I'd say galaxy.

    Christ...Hardest decision I've made all day :D

The best chocolate has to be the Green & Blacks one with ginger. Yum Yum Yum. I can't think of anything better!

I'd choose Cadbury's on those days when you desperatly need choc though.
