fuck um .........as soon as we are born we are brainwashed into something the system and goverment want us to wear and its usually fuckin grey man "bastards expect us to wear that shite for like fiftheen years " then wear them throughout our lives .........the best uniforms to wear are your own .
i hate the whole concept. i mean, look at it's definition for a start: u·ni·form adj. 1. Always the same, as in character or degree; unvarying. 2. Conforming to one principle, standard, or rule; consistent. 3. Being the same as or consonant with another or others. 4. Unvaried in texture, color, or design. the whole point of a uniform is to make you conform... it's just there to force you to be the same as every other person around you...
uniforms create more equality for the poor kids who can't afford to keep up with all the designer crap.
our uniform at work is very open...unlike my last stinking job (god i hated that). we just are told black an white...so infact i can look smart in work but still be wearing clothes id quite happily wear out of work...and i can go to out local rock club on a weds after work an not look like i just came from work. so im cool where i am. i just made a pair of yummy cotton lycra black big trousers...cost me about 25p in material (benefits of workin in a material shop) and everyone said they loved em, yet i feel like im wearing my pyjamas when im wearin them - they so comfy!
I've got a new job and I'm newly born You should see me dressed up in my uniform I work in a hotel all guild & flash remember that place where the doors we smashed!
I suppose, that uniform is a way of teachng discipline from an early age. I didn't really mind my uniform because it was all black and my school was really slack about it, so I could wear what I liked anyway.
Agreed. While I never liked wearing school uniform (who did?) and I like wearing work uniform even less, I can appreciate the importance of uniforms, at least in state schools. They were originally introduced so that poor children could go to school wearing the same clothes as rich children without fear of discrimination. This is less of an issue now, as even working class children can dress to fashion trends, and indeed often set them (as we can see with chav culture). But I would retain the importance of the ideal of school uniforms as an equalising measure. In society you cannot have total freedom and total equality together. I would sacrifice some of the former to create more of the latter....
so what does a full uniform cost these days ? can you still get grants for them ? . we had to wear hand me downs back in the 70"s " fuckin terrible .
I think you could get kids uniforms in ASDA for under a tenner. But I'm not saying uniforms are so relevant any more, just appreciating their historical value....
understand what your sayin man but like back in the day thatchers britain and all that shit people were a lot poorer . i remember a riot in our school were desks and chairs were stacked like a bonfire and lit " and jumpers and blazers (pardon the pun ) were thrown on while pink floyds another brick in the wall played on someones cassette in the background ...........welcome to the system .
I used to tie my school tie so that there was only a teeny tiny bit of the narrow end poking out of the knot ... that did mean I had the kipper end dangling all the way down my trouser leg to my feet but it was worth it for the small act of rebellion
