My computer broke!!! HELP!

I don't know what's wrong with it, it just wont turn on? All the wires are ok, I took them out and put them back in. So i'm using my old one ... from like 1997. Yeah, well it took me almost AN HOUR to finally get to the forums.

So does anyone know what might be wrong with it?

 

Mine used to be like that. Now it works fine.

My guess is that it was the transformer/contactor (sometimes it'd shut off at any given time)... or whatever it's called in computer form.

 

I know nothing about electronics.

 

Power Supply's go bad all the time. You can usualy buy a new one for around $25-60 US. Be sure to take the old one with you, also, you should check any fuses you see inside your computer.

but 1st when u try strting it is there any fan noise?

 

While your on your old compy try shutting off avatars, sigs and sig pics. They are slowing you down.

It's like it can't get any power at all.

 

is there a switch on the back..on the powersuply?
or on the power strip? (well u probly have this comp plugged into the same powerstrip so thats probly not it..but)
check the wswitch on the back 1st..if thats ok..open it up & look on the power suply for any fuses..usualy a lil round black plastic cap like thing

but sounds like the powersupply might be dead

 

Have you verified the outlet is good by plugging something else into it?

 

Have you tried flambollating your splangecaps?

 

that will only help if the codingulator is miscohabulated
but i think its probly a dismalengumated tomulator interfering with the fugamatronix regulator which would dusrupt the power from reaching the ugaman cantamanbob receptor

most chapsmatters will fix themselves with a good kick right in the ol sciotix
but u gotta be careful to not loosen the humboner

My Mom talked to her friend is a total techie and he said it was the power supply. The really awesome part is, he said he had the extra part I need and will give it to me. So I don't have to spend 60 bucks on it. SWEET.
