My fly was always crap :H

Maybe I'll do better at the Karma Kafe

    Well my name's Tahmina.
I'm just about to move from Cambridge (where I've been living for a year) to London. Before that I lived in Dubai for about 2 years and North west london before that.

I've just finished my A levels (sortof) and am going to start a 12 month placement in London, working for capitalist whores and pimps :D until I start uni next year.

Interests include raves (when I can be bothered), ordering things off the internet then moaning about them and trashy television.
My slightly less scummy interests include reading, singing when I think no one is listening and drawing inanimate objects.

It's nice to be back on the forums :D

So sorry about my delayed replies, I only moved to my new place avec pinkmoon a few weeks ago, and then started work, and my firm then shipped us back to cambridge for a 2 week residential course!
So everything has been really hectic but so much fun, it was training from 8am - 7pm! and then 'socialising' from 7pm to 4am (in my case at least!)

Anyway I think it's time I answered some questions

This might sound silly, but I'm most looking forward to work, I've met so many lovely people already and its all really new to me - and i have an excuse to dress up all smart :sunglasse

I think working full time will help me get more organised and develop a good work ethic, as you know Sal I am the laziest person in the world ever, its taken 3 years to get some alevels under my belt and even then, only just!
I have so many things I want to do but unless I get out of this 'I'll do it tomorrow' rut I dont think they'll ever get done

Not particularly, sometimes I wish I had my own place, one where I wouldnt have to worry about decorating crazily because I won't be there for long.

I hate moving stuff - it always highlights how much stuff I have. Moving to London, I had a van full of stuff; while Pinkmoon managed to get all her things up the stairs in two trips, I had to block the hallway all afternoon. But people forgot that all those things are all I have since I've kept nothing at my parents house.
Either way I'm having a big cull :)

My parents moved a lot when they were in the UK, trying to creep higher up the property ladder, my mum hated it and I think it really upset her.
I don't think I could do this renting moving lark for too long.
In Dubai there were people who would stay in hotel rooms for a year because it was the same as renting, now that would make me feel disorientated!

I dream mostly in the UK, I guess its simply because more of my time has been spent here. When I dream its often based in places I've been in recently, for example last night I dreamed about the college I had that residential course in for the last 2 weeks, I woke up expecting to be there...and Sal has a new room this year so I had one of those 'shit where am I?' moments

My favourite book, thats a tuff one, I dont think I've been reading enough recently.
It's been SLEB by Andrew Holmes, for ages, its a really easy read, but his character development is awesome.
The main character is an alcoholic, and as a reader you sort of join in with his antics and sortof degenerate with him. Its written quite colloquially, which is always good :)
I just read 'Stuart - a life backwards' which I would recommend to everyone, it was written using a very erratic timeline, but in a way that reflected Stuart's life (a real homeless guy in Cambridge).

I like reading Hardy and Louis De bernieres, Captain Corelli's mandolin is probably one of my favourites.

    Thanks for the questions!

    :D

    Oooh thats a tuff un...

I can think of my worst memory quite easily, and undoubtedly it still haunts you as much as it does me.

    I'll explain for everyone else:
As Sal, Showmet, Jonny2mad and I were stewarding, we were there the night before the festival and were taking a wander round the site, we came accross the pussy parlure :
    http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glade/2005/photos-PussyParlour-PB.shtml

At this point it hadn't been set up properly and didn't have the name up. So all 4 of us were standing by the locked doors peering in trying to work out what it was.
By this point a group, and I mean like sodding 20 girls, all aged about 10 were there too.
And I commented that it looked a bit like a carousel (the circular structure and the poles) which seemed like a sensible observation at the time.

Next thing I knew all 20 girls were laughing and we couldn't work out what at. But we sort of felt like a minority, and the laughter just wouldn't stop, in fact it got louder...
Think about it, TWENTY pre pubescant girls
It got worse, so much so that we started to leave - we'd been hounded out by 10 year olds
and we still hadn't worked out what they were laughing at

We'd got about 20 yards away when we heard the 'ringleader' of the group exclaim 'HAHA A CAROUSEL' before collapsing into evil cackles again.

    Bitches.

One good memory (one of many I'd like to stress!) may have been when we were hunting for drugs, and I thought I'd use my girlie charm to approach random people - (some call it being a whore, I call it networking).
And these two guys were talking to Sal and I, and suddenly stopped and said 'I don't mean to sound rude, but you two both have beautiful bone structure.' That made me walk around with a grin for ages - so random so unecessary so lovely.
Other good memories include finishing our last shift on the tower, threatening to mortorfire late shift relief over the radios, seeing emma, rich, jon, jonny again.

not as yet, which is a bummer, but I've been bogged down by work, working full time is a drag - never have time to do anything and the weekends are over before you know it.
That aside I'm actually really enjoying work, the people are often twattish but interesting nonetheless and it makes the lovely ones stand out more.

Did see a small band called the King Blues at 12 Bar Club - there were other bands but the King Blues really struck a chord with me.

    How are you???!!

Gosh I have been so awful at keeping this thread up to date, but with exams coming up I have to do anything but revise - as is tradition.

Given the time lapse can I waiver the Christmas Presents question?
