A myspace rant

why the fuck do people on there feel the need to bog down their page with 10+ videos/songs/animatedgifs/whatever the fuck? No, seriously, do you think that makes you look cool? Makes your site even vaguely appealing when it's so fucking choppy to scroll down that everyone just wants to give up and flip you off?

GRRRRRR. I mean, a couple vids I can understand, even if I refuse to even put music on my page. But people go so fucking over the top with that shit it's ridiculous. If it takes my computer more than a minute to load your page you're not going on my friends list. Yes, I'm bitchy like that.

yea, same here - hate when people put tons of videos on there page. and when they have multiple audio/video playing at the same time. and when pictures are so huge or when i have to scroll down for a minute just to get to the comments, pisses me off. that why i keep mine normal, nothing fancy. just change the song every now and then and steal images

 

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's never even anything original either, it's always just a bunch of vaugely funny videos.

I always keep music on my page though. Just to let people know that when they're looking at my page, they're mine.

 

i hate all that crap, too. though i suppose a nice background picture would be okay. but when you try to go look at someone's profile, and suddenly the page takes forever to load and you can't find any of the buttons or usual crap, i just give up on them. too mch shit.

 

That's why I like to design my own simple layouts with maybe a song but no silly videos or tons of graphics.

Why would you want a page that takes 5 minutes to load if it doesn't freeze up first?

 

I can't get into sites that are overloaded. It's too slow and then when it does load the music blares.

I Dislike Crazy moving Backgrounds...And mouse Pointers...I Get Pretty Confused...

Pretty much everything.

But I guess my greatest source of disdain lies in the average age of the crowd. If everyone on there were ACTUALLY over 17 and not lying about their age, I think I would generally be less annoyed with the site. I find that the pages with all the music videos and animated knick-knacks are more common among younger kids who are adamant about showing to the world just how musically and socially 'refined' they are.

I also don't like that Rupert Murdoch owns the site.

I agree with the choppiness factor. I have a song on my page, but it's in no way choppy. my custom layout just basically changes the color on the page and takes away borders. It's a bit minimalistic.

I also don't like that Rupert Murdoch owns the site. Another thing I hate are the bulletin whores. I don't get the ones who whore themselves since I don't add them, but I hate the ones that beg for comments and picture comments.

I only signed up because I live away from my friends and this is one of the few ways I can keep in touch with them.

I mainly just have allot of photos on mine. No videos. I do have song play list.

 

there are a few more pics up than I would ever put, but that's a personal taste thing.

I do hate that I have to scroll over horizontally to see all of your page though... maybe it's a firefox thing *shrugs* I think it's because some of the pics are a little wide and affect the table widths
