Hello all, I am heading out in March (after the worst of the snow melts) for a road trip pretty much cross country to visit different communities and see how things are done. I am hoping one will speak to me or that I might find an old abandoned farmhouse to fix up on some dusty back road in the middle of nowhere with a couple acres and will be looking for like minded individuals to join me. But in the meantime - if you have visited a community or an ecovillage that is obscure (not listed in the IC directory as that is where I am getting most of my info) I would love to visit and pitch in with working for a couple weeks in exchange for a place to park my car or pitch a tent. I am looking for communities that share my same values- self sustainability, organic gardening, hard work, family values, nonviolence, and kindness. So, if you want to pm me to know more that's fine, otherwise send me a location and a time frame (if you have times set aside for visitors) so I can plan it into my itinerary. Blessed Be, Reyna
Merry Meet Reyna, Even as do we, most communities have a fairly open ended visiting policy finding from experience that to lock people only to the gathering time tends to give most people yet another excuse for the dream unfulfilled - for it becomes more apparent over time to the seeker, that the only realfilfilment is in the Doing. Be forewarned also that in the northern parts, the time of snowmelt will be later followed in the wet regions by the often untalked of extra season.... the mud season - when every step leaves a sucking sound and often a boot or sock, and the tractors leaves deep gullies in the all too wet soil......Ahh the wonders of the rebirth in the wonderful wet areas. Blessings Be with you on your sojourn - may you find that which you seek. Blessings along the Way the lessons Learned Namaste
