    Do you smoke?

What are your views on smoking?

What do you think of the ban on smoking in public places which is coming into force next year?

    Hmm?

I don't smoke but I support everybody who does. Smoking id an expression of individualism and liberty and these politicians who oppose it are simply trying to overpower everyone else to server their own political ambitions.

I smoke, I probably shouldn't, but fuck it, I enjoy it. I don't see why I should have to stop smoking by anyone elses decision, other than my own. If someone doesn't want to go to a smokey pub, go to a fucking Wetherspoons.

i don't entirely agree with not being allowed to smoke in a pub or club; but not smoking in a restaurant is fine by me, unless they allowed restaurants to build separate enclosed smoking areas so someone else's smoke didn't waft into my airspace as i am trying to eat.

of course, if they allowed smoking weed in public, my opinion might change a bit. ;-)

yea i think no smoking in a restaurant is a good move...when i was a student and we went for baltis i wud go outside anyway to smoke coz i didnt think it was fair on the others, but banning smoking in nightclubs? what about breathing in smoke machine smoke, and with out dodgy stale ciggie smoke smell...we'll end up smelling everyones BO. and not being able to smoke OUTSIDE work places and restaurants and stuff - thats insane...its free land...free air...if someone doesnt like it, dont stand in my pocket

Ugh yes definately a ban in restaurants. Little story:

When i was on a french exchange a few years ago, my french people had a big meal and they invited the whole family over. Well in the middle of the table was flan floating in custard (my 2 worst foods). Well everyone sitting at this table was smoking, and the smoke would rise up and fall into this pudding, so there were lots of little black specks in the custard. And then i had to eat it. My god it was bad enough without the ash. yeah. story over

Its a stressful world. A world without fags is unimaginable.

Okey, so two hundred Malboro Lights for me. I love Marlboro Lights. They are really the best fag on the market:D

After we got the ban the pubs werent the same, how can you sit destroying your liver without helping fuck up your lungs from second hand smoke at the same time, and now if ya forget to have a shave before going out you dont have the smell of smoke cover up your rotteness, unless you have an even smellier person sitting next to you, which often happens.

There's a similar thing going on over here, and I absolutly love it. Being an asthmatic I think it's fantastic, but I can understand why people would be upset... But since I'm so sensitive to smoke I'm now able to enjoy a lot more places, restaurants and the like, since they banned smoking in some places... So it's good and bad I think, I'm just on the good end of it...

they did the pub/club ban when i was still living in NY. it came about 5 years after the restaurant ban, but even the restaurant ban stated that if the restaurant was willing to supply a closed off room for smokers they could have a smoking section.

it was weird the first time i went to a bar (pub for you guys) for a jungle night and there wasn't anyone smoking. however, there were about 20 or so people standing outside of the small bar smoking away on their ciggies. so it also meant there were less people inside and thus a bit less atmosphere. it felt weird.

I think we should do what we did back in Ye olde England. Have a smoking room for the gentlemen to smoke cigars or ciggerettes. It would be in a completely different room with a fireplace in winter time, a billiard table and a bar with a beautiful damsel with a lovely picture of Gower peninsula on the wall.

    Do you smoke?
no. don't want to start either...

What are your views on smoking?
basically i see smoking as you paying for a multi-billionaire to poison you.

What do you think of the ban on smoking in public places which is coming into force next year?
i support it. why do you need to puff on a fag to have a drink?

I've smoked for about 7 years now, somedays I love it somedays I can't stand the things. I'd like to stop, get my lungs back and up my fitness routines...But then I remember the joy of nicotine and fall right back into the habit.

I remember the day I started smoking properly (I'd had a few here and there in my younger years with my 10 year old chain smoking friends). For some reason I just fancied owning a pack of cigarettes. Picked up 10 Benson & Hedges, removed the wrapper all careful like, admired the sticks inside, lit up and kicked back.

No peer pressure. No stresses. No subliminal advertising (that I know obviously!).
Just wanted a pack. Bought one. Continued buying them.

Naturally I oppose an outright ban on smoking in public places. Seems as if you're gonna do that you may as well go all out and make it a criminal offence to have them at all. I mean, the Gov. say they're doing it for health reasons, well, shouldn't they go the whole hog? The nations health would improve all round that way.

To have the choice would be nice. Smoking and Non/Smoking. Us smokers are clearly too weak to make such desicions! :)

Bokonon's Bill Hicks Quote No. 334:
"I smoke, if this bothers anyone, I recommend you looking around the world in which we live and... shutting your fucking mouth."

    ;)

    Why did I start smoking?

Well, why not? I wanted to, that's why. Whenever people ask why I started smoking, they make it sound like a sin. Even Jesus smoked.:)

i smoke, i have done since i was 17. i started smoking because i found smoking joints with a roach in really hard so i had a try with a fag & found it easier i just never stopped. i've tryed to stop quite a few times, the longest is 3 months but i always end up going back to them because i get hammerd in the pub & end up having a fag. i think the smoking ban in a good thing, i think it will make it easier to quit smoking because i hate standing out side now having a fag & i put it out much sooner if its cold out so there is no way i will want to stand out side for every fag i have where ever i go.

Smoking should be banned in the same way people who try to commit suicide should be sent to prison.

How dare we have any control over our own lives eh?
