So I am planning on doing a large scale civil disobedience "protest" for Peace.... I am looking for anyone who has some guts and can comit to helping. I want to shut down part of Lake Shore Drive (LSD) on a Friday during rush hour either in the evening or morning. I want to get a bunch of people to string their hands across the road so that the cars can't get by on either side....and then have people hand out flyers and flowers to everyone.... I only want to do it for 5-10 minutes. Enough time to make a point, but not actually ruin anyones day/plans by it. Just a simple and powerful act that can show people what a little effort and inginuity can do... Anyone in?
I highly doubt that the Chicago Police Department or the CTA is trolling Hipforums for students who are going to distrupt traffic.... Plus it's not like I put a date and time up... Thanks for you support.
I'm not sure.... I need a bunch of people to comit first- otherwise it woudl never happen. if you are interested please PM me.
Lining up volunteers would be an important first step. Chicago is a pretty good distance from where I live though. If I get an opportunity to come to your part of the country around the same time as your event I'll come participate.
Good luck. It is nice to see someone actually put some effort into their beliefs. More Americans need to put action behind their words.
