but seroiusly, does winter suck after your eighteen? i mean cuz then your in college and work, so how the hell can you play in the snow. im old but then again im young. where the hell did my childhood go?
The most fun I had playing in the snow, was when my sisters and I decided to make as many snowmen as we could. We ended up making eight snowmen in all (and as usual) at the end of the day we had a snowball fight in which we used the snowmen as shields Hotwater
When I was a kid and in school, the snow had settled. We went out into the field and I learned how to make a snowman. There were some kids who had mittens tied to their jacket all year round. I remember that day when it snowed. It was wonderfully new.
This is my last winter before I'm an 'adult' too, I never thought about it. Kind of depressing haha. But I don't think it'll change the feeling I get during wintertime, and I'll always make sure I find time to play in the snow. I guess I don't actually have to play in it though, just to take a walk would be nice. What I'm trying to say is that there are certain things that I think will always give me the feeling of being a kid again so it won't matter how old I get, winter's one of them
its sad though because i have 3 siblings ranging from 25 to 15. and we used to play so much through out winter. we used to make snowmen, made forts, shoveld drive wayy for 5 dollars each kid and some hot chocolate included in that. we played all with the kids in the nieghborhood pretending to snowboard and jsut "swimming" in the snow. and when the snow plow man came, he would always tell us to get off the damn street and it just reminded us that we would never become that person who took the snow away from the streets-drive waves ok- but not streets. i had some sweet times in the snow.
from what i've noticed around here - kids don't do any of that anymore. maybe they'll go sledding once in a while, but thats it. no going around with friends to shovel peoples cars out, no fort making, no snowball fights - nothing. its really sad. i longed for snow days, while parents had to work, we played in the snow
yep...but my mom had this rule. she was like "your either in or out for the day" we couldnt come in unless we stayed inside the whole rest of the days because we'd track so much snow in the house...and she would only turn the fire place on for like 30 min every other day. haha i just rememberd my older borther HATED my little sisters FURBEE and threw it into the fire place one year... she saved it but its ass was all burnt black b/c of the shitty material...
but isnt that more the reason when you get older to mkae the best damn igloo or snowangel you ever made...now you got experience so all the more reason to show off you made snow mkaing skills?
duuuude.. my mom used to have that SAME rule.. "your either in or out for the day" thats hilarious... and since i have poor circulation in my hands and feet, my hands and feet would FREEZE and i would always want to come in early, but mom wouldnt let me cause then 10 minutes later i'd wanna go back outside lol
SAME!!! my hands would always be so cold i could freak'n freeze snow into ice... but sometimes while my mom would sleep, cuz she sleeps a lot, i would sneek in my bother and sister and we'd turn the fire place on get warm then go back out...shed wake up and knew we turned trhe fire place on but she was to afriad to come outside and get us half the time...oh winter...
wow, that rule sucks only rule we had was take the snowsuit and boots off before you come up the stairs - this worked well for us but i rarely was ever inside, every few hours or so to get some food and hot cocoa (i love hot cocoa!! ) and then head back out with fresh gloves and hats (warmed up in the dryer)
me and my brother would always have to come in through the basement, and take off our snow clothes downstairs and hang them up to dry.. i HATED this part because i was cold, wet, and jsut wanted to get warm but NOO we had to take off ALL our clothes and hang them up! haha
One winter I tried to make an Ice Skating Rink in my backyard (bad idea) I discovered that using the garden hose when the temperature outside is zero degree's tends to cause pipes to burst :leaving: Hotwater
I didn't realize that my parents turned off the outside water feed so the pipes won't freeze. so when I turned on the water (first at the main junction) and then at the spigot .....:leaving: Hotwater
