Watching 20/20 Friday night I saw a segment on lions, tigers and bears (oh my) that are kept in folks backyards and basically used as side show and tourist attractions. In other words, they are privately owned and used to make money off of. Like say, if I had a pet tiger, I would charge people to take photos with them etc. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find more information on this topic. Also, does anyone know a proper name for this? I can't seem to find one so I can type it into Google!

    here's the article. clicky clicky.

Some lady here in The Pine Barrens had a Tiger compound. A tiger

escaped and was just ghouling around through the woods and the town. Everyone was in a panic. Then The goverment got pissed and confiscated all the cats, shut the place down and laid a bunch of heavy fines and judgements on her, She is basicly bankrupt.

So after that little adventure I imagine it would be difficult to establish anything like it again.
