Sorry newbie here and this is my first effort at growing. I have four plants growing under 400w grolux lamp. The problem is that the leaves are drying up and the edges are curling up. How can I stop this and get the plants back on track please.
We need a lot more info than that to help. Such as medium age of plants nutrients (what kind, how often, what strength) ventilation style of growing (soil or hydro)
grodan rockwool hydroton europonic grow nutrient two oscillating house fans with the cellar door open plants have been growing hydroponically for 3 weeks When i first transplanted the seedlings from the propagator everything was fine but I followed the directions on the nutrient feeding by ebb and flow constantly and didnt adjust the ph has I didnt have testing kit. a week later a bright yellow tip appeared on one of the leaves then the leaves started drying out and curling at the edges and the tips have become very dehydrated and almost crumbly so I asked the guy at the hydro shop and he told me that it sounded like a number of things first I was feeding to often second I was feeding alkaline by not testing the ph and also I had too much nutrient in the solution as I should have half the recommended amount as this is for full grown plants. So I have taken them out of the ebb and flow and seperated them into different pots so I can feed them individually based on the dryness of the rockwool cube I have made new nute solution that is half strength and ph balanced it and feed it small amounts regularly but new leaves are still crisping at the edges even though the colour has improved, I have also checked my indoor bible and it says it might be mg defficiency so i have bought so epsom salts and made the solution 1 teaspoon to 2 litres of water and havent seen any change but It has only been applied once earlier today
The first question that comes to mind is how far from the light are they? and where on the plant is this happening?
the edges of the leaves are curling up on nearly all leaves the plants have three branch unions so far
ok so i flushed everything and have used epsom salts and things seem better, but now I think I'm getting deficiencies as the leaf stems have gone slightly redish, was using growth tech grow a+b and I think I'm getting a shortage of N-P-K so I have bought some earth juice today havent used it yet though, now should i add this to my current solution or start a fresh solution just with the earth juice.
