My favorites are Jerry Garcia for "Casey Jones", "Dire Wolf" (Gotta love "Reckoning") and, "Touch of Grey."

And Neil Young for "Southern Man" and "Old Man."

Who's got your favorite set of pipes?

    Avoiding metal vocalists...

    Ronnie Van Zant - Freebird
    Bon Scott - TNT
Alice Cooper - No More Mr. Nice Guy
Robert Plant - Stairway to Heaven

Can't think right now, but those would be some of my favorites.

Althought he's not my favorite guitarist, I like Syd Barrett's voice.
I like the vocals of Robert Plant in Achilles Last Stand
Oh yeah and there Roger Waters' voice and lyrics I like alot too.

I must say I'm not in love with singing thought, I prefer instrumentals.

    definitely oldstyle chris cornell!

i dig Janis' vocals most on "work me, lord" and the live versions of "all is loneliness"

can't beat ian gillan doing "blindman" with Deep Purple and "born again" when he was with Sabbath

    s. tyler does some amazing things, particularly on "nobody's fault"

think of Mick Jagger's dreamy sounds on "heaven"

robert plant has a great set of pipes, esp. in his youth - nuff said!

tom jones has got quite the roar himself when he wants to use it, hehe :)

may not be the best by standards but i loooove mick jaggers voice. its so distinctive. And he was pretty much the only (lead) singer of the stones. he also had a lot of different styles with his voice. LOVE IT. would have liked to hear him hold some more longer notes, which he doesnt do often, but still hes one of my top faves. I particularly love his voice in lets spend the night together (all those oh my my my my's lol) and wild horses, moonlight mile, as well as angie. all of em, really!!
and def cant forget janis, man!
