hahaha yea i remember pieman was in bad shape there, and hed sleep sitting up somehow snoring loudly..i mean i can see sleeping sitting up if your in a chair with a back.. but just sitting on the ground asleep, what kept him from just falling over? i never could figure that out
this is cool remembering more and more but that gathering every second

alegheny has always been so good to us, we really desperately need an alegheny regional soon

it was a way beautiful forest...the air was perfect for bubble blowing!! After our remarriage we spent the whole nite (June 26th) doing 2 1/2 ft soap bubbles...doing raps about how we were 'escapees from the Cartoon Castle and we had the soup but it wasn't the soup you eat, it was the soup you blow bubbles with (but shhh it's all a conspiracy...a conspiracy to kill the hippie mace)' and the next thing we knew folks were trying to worship the bubbles but we had to tell them it was better to whoosh the bubbles...broke up Agro camp that nite, we did...the bubbles tripped their brain cells & they forgot to be Agro!!!

they were everywhere, i went to shit several times as my dog ran around & you could hear them, because he was running around, i thought for sure that he or i would be bitten. But just that one brother from kiddy village got bitten & they called in a hellicopter to fly him out.

CALM folks coulda pulled him through it. we didn't see any snakes by our kitchen...guess we scared 'em away. handy info:dogs handle snake bites much better than humans. as long as the bite is not on their chest, all you really need to do when a dog is bitten is give benedryl, offer plenty of water (our dog perfers ice) and watch the dog. Our dog has been bitten 2ce just patroling the yard.

And on Pieman, his health is still not good.

Ya know what? we didn't see any uniforms either in PA, until the evacuation and even then they just walked by...

This was the first time I had ever heard of the gathering. I was 12 and if I remember this gathering was somewhere near Ridgeway I think, well that is very close to where i'm from, if it wasn't near there it was close to where i was from probably less than an hour, sadly all I really got out of the experience being too young to understand or go was a somewhat overall negative sentiment toward "those rainbow people" from some of the people around me. However, as life usually does things came full circle and I now am one of "those rainbow people" and as it has so many times in the past few years a lot of light has been shone on the ugliness, the judgement and the closed-ness that a lot of the people that existed in the place of my origin showed. There will probably never be a national gathering that close again, but I am definetly keeping my fingers crossed for a regional =).

    yup it was ridgeway
the time i spent a minth there before a reguinal (near tidiout) i went thru rudgeway and a car load of kids threw stuff at us and yelled some shit...
few weeks later at the gathering some1 tackles me in a great big tearfull hug.. i had no clue who it was....
turned out to be the kid whod thrown stuff at me
he had come to the gathering thinkin hed cause alittle trouble with them damn rainbows... and as he found out he already was 1 of em...he had a totaly different and enlightened perception of what rainbow family was...
welcome home and thank you for the warm invite into whats really your back yard

hmm ive only experienced that 1 incident, over quite a few years..and that was only when i got there over a month b4 anyone else..and like i said his attitude towards rainbow turned around completely once he found out 1st hand what we were about
in general tho allegheny has always welcomed uswith open arms, and even our relationship with fs has been better then usual.. i dunno about now exactly, but in the past the fs had extended an open invite to come back topa anytime
and altho i wouldnt like to see another ocala like situation where pa is always expected to have an anual regional, i'm amazed we havent taken em up on that and had any regionals in the past few years
