I finished up this hat in the wee hours on the morning. It's made from merino wool (mauve) and samoyed (darker purple) and is AMAZINGLY soft. The samoyed yarn is an absolute dream to knit with. I made my own pattern for this puppy and like the fit of it much better than the "We Call Them Pirates" hat that I made a little bit ago but kept the same skull design. It's a shame that I can't keep this one. He he he Close up of the detail:
