Since there isn't a Satanism Sub-Folder, we can discuss anything Satanism here.

Ok... Quick Q, I'm speaking of the LaVey Bible. Whats your favorite statement? My personal favorie is the 4th:

"Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!"
and the 5th:
"Satan represents vegence, instead of turning the other cheek"

I believe that theyre such good guidelines to follow because oftentimes we simply float along just saying "Well thats your opinion" or "Ok whatever" when the person deserves to get ripped into. I also get sick and tired of watching people give those who fish for compliments kindness. They have done nothing to merit said kindness from me. Here, most of it can be seen in memeber photos, ala "I look so bad." Just once I wanna see the first reply "Yes. Yes you do"

 

my fav of the nine satanic statements is

1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!

7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!

8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!


Satan exists as much as God does... with that being said Satan does not exist at all... Satan is a symbol of being against the christian ideals

 

Anyone else find the ninth completly without reason and pointless?

 

yeah haha...it is very pointless... but you cannot say it doesnt make sense

 

Oh no doubt. It makes plenty sence but I dont think it should be put in there with the other ones... Takes away from the legitamecy of them. I mean I think I could be placed as a seperate page before the book of satan you know... Just a one quote thing to make you go "Huh.... good point"

It says indulgence not overindulgence. However if you feel you should do it then go for it. Thats what its about. Techniclly when you think about it, a satanist can not over indulge.

I vote the latter.

You know, I'm an easy going kinda guy, and, I don't care what people want or do as long as it's not hurting me. I don't mind giving people useless complements if it makes them feel good about themselves. Whatever.

But, if you start going psychic vampire on my, I'll fuckin psychicly STAB YOU IN THE FUCKING HEART.

It's a good statement, but has no relevence in the SB, IMO.

 

When I was young I was a Satanist. Me and two other friends did rituals from the LaVey Rituals book. I used to really like L'air Du Stifle, I think it was called.


Anyway, I started using acid and had a bad trip where I was possessed by Satan. Only Satan wasn't powerful and strong and glorious in evil, but instead was weak, and dishrag inglorious, and scapegoated from all that humans find most abhorrent.

So I figured out that whatever has power and glory, even in the demonic comes from the one source of power, call it God or the Absolute or whathaveyou.

Satan is merely an echo of what humankind has tried to slough off for thousands of years. LaVey was merely a Christian, no different from Billy Graham. Each has shaped Christianity into a different form from it's original Communist intentions.

 

did you read any of his books other than the ritual book? (mainly the satanic bible?) Either you didnt, or you were too young to realize what he was trying to say.

Lavey is as much a christian as he is muslim or wiccan. He used his books to present his personal philosophy, and critique other religions

Seriouslly... What the fuck? I dont go around sitting in churches wearing satanic shirts, I don't laugh at christians and dont run around screaming Ava Satanas (those days of stupidity lasted a week till the high wore off from this new found lifestyle.) So I'm trying to get attention by talking about a religion I follow? I'm not fishing for one damn compliment, I never have and actually I'm more game toward petty insults because they amuse me. But saying I'm an attention whore is actually insulting to me, considering how little I do for attention.

Anyway. Chodpa, I suggest you read the book. LSD will not help you come to any truths or relizations. It will only offer you theories and ideas. Its just as bad as people doing drugs and finding god. Read the book, then afirm that you were wrong. LaVey was no Christian as he enjoyed pleasures of the flesh often and denounced the christian god as a mere construct of the human mind via fear of the unknown.

I couldn't really pick a favorite quote, but some great ones are:

I love this one because I agree with it so deeply. I believe in love for all and we are all one so it's not hard to love anyone, but obviously I, like everyone, will come across those who are truely not people I want to have in my life whatsoever. Certain people make it impossible for me to enjoy myself, and I don't ever want that. I'm not going to pretend to love someone who makes me miserable. I start out loving everyone though. Love is given easily. Hatred and EVEN MORE love, however, can only be earned.

 

That is one damn good quote!
