Weed, Gateway drug? Yes or no?

no, I know a few friends that used weed as a crutch to get off of heroine and crack. it's actually the reverse effect in my experience but, i think it really just depends on the person doing it.

yeah, I've never really been drunk before, and I smoke. I think that the person decides, not the drug. I think herbs are the way to go man. I smoke weed and do some obscure relaxing herbs if I can find them and I definately want to do shrooms sometime in the next year or so. Also, I've been able to turn down cigs even when I've been REALLY high, because I think weed makes it easier to say no to cigs because your already really high, so why would you just want to something thats kind of relaxing. I think its way harder to say no to them or other things (at least for me) when your not high because you want to get high, but you dont have any weed and that thing is available right then.

There is no such thing as a particular gateway drug, the first drug you try is going to make you want to try others.
Its like hey man, super mario bros is a gateway videogame, cause after I played it, I wanted to play all the other video games.

well if they all make you wanna try others, meaning theyre all gateway drugs, then... weed IS a gateway drug. but fuck it, this could be debated until the end of time.

^whoever said alcohol is the main one, good call, I'd have to say I can agree with that in a lot of ways.

 

Well lets just say the first drug used is the gateway drug, alcohol and tobacco are almost always the first drugs used, because they are the legal ones.

 

Although I do not think of it as a drug, weed is a gateway drug. Along with the rest of the other drugs and "drugs". Alcohol can be a gateway drug. Cocaine can be a gateway drug. LSD can be a gateway drug. Perscription meds can be gateway drugs. There is no single gateway drug. All drugs can be a gateway drug. Everyone has their own gateway drug. My gateway drug is alcohol. I've met people that have LSD as a gateway drug. A gateway drug is the drug you use to exit the straight-edge road(i.e. the first drug you use) This new road, wich is your gateway drug, can lead to other roads(other drugs) It is not possible to deem a single drug "THE" gateway drug. Everyone has their own gateway drug.

there should be other options on that poll. i think weed can be a gateway drug for some people but not for others. so that is my opinion..

 

defenitly yes IMO.
After trying weed it's very likely that you will be curious or want to experience other harder (meaning with a stronger effect) drugs then weed, or atleast this is th effect it had on me.
Unluckily I have very weak will power and I almost am addicted to weed so the only thing that keeps me from trying harder stuff is fear of addiction.
bottom line: yes, weed could make you curious about the effect of other, more potent, drugs.

 

of course weed leads to other things... mostly confusion and junk food. It all depends on ones character.

I had already been drinking alcohol before I tried MJ and I have never smoked cigarettes. I've also have never tried any other drug but have been offered others. And I really don't want to. But I would like some sticky icky right now!

 

here is what im gonna say... or something( not sure weather it is say or something else) yes, becuse my friends and me were sitting in the rain almost, smoking weed and i got home soak cuz riding my bike so slow so i was soaked and i had like 3pears or 2 maybe, and i had a cup noodles and im about to have penut butter cheese chackers(those 6 package each things that look like cheese zits or nipps with punet butter in them. i was thinking about doing something else like shrooms, but only just now, not then.
so its a gatway deug. i think so
