At the cafes in Canada and Amsterdam

can you buy bud in bulk? By bulk i mean, not just in a joint or a brownie or something. Can you buy eights, quarters, and ounces?

theres a difference between the now defunct dakine in canada and the shops in a'dam.

heres the rules:
"Today, coffee shops can sell up to 5 grams of cannabis per transaction as long as they obey five rules: no minors, no alcohol sales, no hard drug sales, no advertising and no public nuisance."

heres the law:
"the law says that you can be prosecuted, and condemned to 1 month of jail, if you "possess" up to 30 grams of marijuana. In practise, if you possess an sell less than 5 grams you are not prosecuted."

and if I took a trip up canada could buy bud not being a citizen to the country?

Wonka knows more then i do about amsterdam, this place in Vancouver was only open for like 6 months before cops raided it, it was like a well known place in vancouver though, was on the news wtc.

You can't just legally purchase bud in Canada. If you could, I wouldn't take two buses to my dealer's place every fortnight.

 

Not all Amsterdam rules and regulations are as black and white as they are in some other countries. Some coffeeshops DO serve alcohol. It IS possible to buy more than 5 gms at a time; depends on how and who you ask. Legal drinking age in Holland is 16. Legal age to enter a coffeeshop is 18. Most coffeeshops DO check ID's on young looking people cause it could mean thier license if they are caught selling to an under age person. Peace.

I dunno about the 4 grams thing, never heard of that in around 10 visits. Legally it's 5g max per customer per transaction though many places will happily slip you some more but I have seen the 5 gram rule enforced several times... I know one coffeeshop in central a'dam which will sell you vacuum packed 20g bags but not from the premises, you have to meet them around the corner hehe. Technically you can be arrested for over 5 grams but this would never be enforced, walk around a'dam and you'll see what I mean. The law was only changed to 5g fairly recently though, it wasn't too long ago you could buy 28g over the counter and coffeeshops could have more than 500g on the premises.

in amsterdam, can you smoke anywhere, or do you have to smoke in the cafes?
