so my doctor diagnosed me with acute sinusitis and is putting me on an antibacterial med (forget which one) and flonase. i've been using a hot wash cloth to help, also a hot herbal heating pad which lasts longer than the wash cloth to relieve the pain and pressure. its only on my left side. any other ideas or home remedies to help out with the pain and pressure - it feels like i'm getting punched in the face repeatedly. any ideas would be aprreciated
la;ksdjf A NETI POT. Seriously, TRY IT if you haven't already. And follow instructions carefully for using it, and I would start off with a little less of the salt saline solution your first few times. It helps A LOT.
a neti pot - where would i go to get one of those? i just read a little bit about it and seems like it would help
well, you can get them at some natural foods stores, I believe, because they had them available at the one closest to me... but there is also a more available option called "SinuCleanse" that is available at many different drug stores, such as Walgreens. It is the same thing, really, and the neti pot is plastic ....I chose this because I know how clumsy I am and didnt want to go for something ceramic as I would probably break it after the first use. lol. They are about 14 dollars.... try googling it "SinuCleanse"
thanks for the info and help i'll google that and see what comes up i steamed the hell out myself last night along with a lot of herbal heating pads and i felt great.
so i googled sinucleanse and saw that they sell them at cvs, walgreens and brooks....brooks is the closest with cvs being the 2nd closest - will defintley check the stores out to see if they have them
yeah it works like a charm; and like i said it is a neti pot, its just the most availabe. otherwise, if you really don't feel like travelling to get one, you can order them online from all sorts of sites. i was considering doing that except i wanted it immediately i was feeling so terrible, and there is no way in hell i'd pay for overnight shipping.
good luck! make sure to read the back, of the insert the "helpful hints" because, for beginners you might want to start out with only half a packet of the saline solution, and such. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me
I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll post my question here. I've been having sinus pain and headaches and just got some homopathic sinus stuff. Anyone tried homopathic remedies for sinus headaches? Did they help? Thanks! Peace and love
start with the neti, it's like the instant relief while the homeopathic kicks in. and check this out: http://www.abchomeopathy.com/c.php/10
Thanks, drummin mama, for your advice. I'll pick up one in a couple days, when I have the money. The homopathy stuff kicked in after I took a nap. Peace and love
A coworker swears by sinucleanse (US version of Neti). Less expensive and the saline solution is a packaged mix. Easiser for some, maybe for travel. (and boy over or underdoing the salt is not fun)
