What does everyone think of these? `In The Aeroplane Over The Sea` is a beautiful album, make sure you listen to `The King of Carrot Flowers`, all 3 parts. Also, `Two Headed Boy` and `Holland, 1945` are genius. Jeff Mangum is a legend
I love neutral milk hotel, such beautiful songs! The lyrics and just everything about them is so spectacular. Glad to see some for fans around!
ive started listining to them after, Trey Anastasio played them the day he was DJ-ing on sirius satalitte radios Jam_On station. Theyre very different from what my ears are used to hearing, so I enjoy it.
I went to see the Dresden Dolls last night and they played a cover of 2 headed boy, it was the first time I've heard it, it's great!
There was that tasty rumour that Jeff Mangum was out of the loony bin and making new music...but it was quashed. However, the other members of the band have their own musical projects called The Gerbils, The Music Tapes, Bablicon and A Hawk and a Hacksaw (4 seperate bands) but I haven't heard much of it.
Dresden Dolls are one of the best perfonamnces I've ever seen, incredibly talented musicians and really good show-people
Yeah, they covered War Pigs in the dvd, it looked pretty amazing. The drummer's so much better live than in the studio
A Hawk and a Hacksaw are incredible, (they are led by Jeremy Barnes from NMH) they mix Eastern European folk, Romanian Wedding dances, Klezmer, and Mariachi, their "Darkness at Noon" album is a real stomper, brilliant off-kilter stuff and one of my favourite albums of last year. Got the new one The Way the Wind Blows on order now.
for about a month i loved "aeroplane" so much that i listened to the whole album twice a day. now i cant bear it anymore.
I guess one of the memebers of this band (haven't heard them yet) helped get another band called Beirut; who I'm listening to right now get signed. I'm really digging Beirut so I think I will have to give Neutrual Milk Hotel a chance.
