I was talking to my english teacher today and lunch. In class, he was talking about how much faster and easier cursive is. Well, turns out, he's a real cursive nut. I mean like he's really into it. He went on about how beautiful cursive is and how much more faster and efficient it is. How print is the "lanuage of the barbarian" in a way. Then he started talking about how it's dying, and that not alot of people really pay attention to cursive. I was inspired, so I've decided to start writting in cursive and really hone my skills. I have'nt written in cursive regularily since elementary school probably. So does anyone else feel this way? Anyone write cursive?

I love cursive, It's beautiful. In 4th grade our teacher made us right in cursive on everything and then I moved to a different school and they were allowed to print and it was a real shock to me. Ever since then I've printed but I think I'm gonna start cursive again.

I write in cursive when I'm writing notes to myself. When I write to other people, I tend to print because my printing is neater than my cursive writing. Most often, I type or send e-mail.

I just took a break from writing some sociology notes(in cursive[IMG]), and I'd like to say I think it's really nice that people are thinking about this. I've noticed some major faults with my cursive, especially compared to my english teacher. I'm working on it though, trying to enforce some of those good habits. Keep it up guys and gals!

I use cursive all the time. We learned how to write in cursive in 4th grade too, it wasn't manditory, but I liked it better. When I got to 7th grade, a lot of the teachers required that we write in print because it is easier to read. I actually had to teach myself how to write in print again. People say I have perfect cursive, yeah, well... what can I say. My print, however... if you can read it, you get a gold star. It's a mish-mash of print, italicized print and cursive. Talk about a work of art...

yeah, i've been wondering about this too, for awhile. my print is very neat and easy to read, but lately i've gotten back into a cursive habit that is difficult to break. my cursive is fine but not as neat as my print, but i don't know if i should bother switching because i feel the same way about cursive, which is beautiful and does seem to be 'dying out.' however, i'm entering college in a few weeks, and with all of the note taking and evaluating i don't know if my easier to read print would be a better choice. haha.

Back in the 70's we were made to learn cursive. Even through high school no one hardly printed. They say they are getting away from cursive due to the fact that most countries now use print for documents, letters, etc etc because of computers. Guess it's more the universal hand written language. Anyways, I still write in cursive. Hardly ever in print. Think it is much more beautiful to see a letter written like that. One can make an art of it if they want. I give my letters big ol loops and such. Thought about taking up caligraphy. Who knows might just do it yet.
