Though I'm very new to the punk scene, I consider myself to be extremely interested by the movement. There are very few fellow punks near where I currently live, so I introduced myself to many of the concepts and ideals. I really hope to meet some older punks that have been involved in it for longer, I suppose as a mentor of some sort, along with getting to know younger punks.

hmm well i can tell ya from experience, young punks grow up to be old hippies but i swear if u ever tell anyone i was a young punk kid..i'll deny it no offence towards you at all..but those years are a neverending embarrassment to me but i supose the scenes changed somewhat since like 20 yearsago it wasabsolutely senceless then..but seems like these days theres some pockets of inteligence
I feel welcomed already, thanks guys. To soaringeagle: Yes, I suppose why I turned to the punk subculture in the first place was to find some people who cared as much as I do about intellectual matters. And fuck, who knows what I'll end up being.
yeasee that was me too, but well in my day at least all i found in the scene was violent drunk addicts, fools pretending to be ..well going way out of the way to prove they were the biggesst asshole possible..lol dont get me wrong tho, some of the punks i know today are highly inteligent independent thinkers and not much like the scene back then but really it would freak ya out if i told u some of the stories from those days but times change i guess i thinkthe punkthing was just something i tried just cause it was the ony real counterculture id been exposed to at the time..

welcome, i consider myself somekinda punkhippy/hippypunk, nice to see another punk overhere. in the musicforum on this site there is a part that is dedicated to punkmusic, that´s all punk i know overhere. but there is enough to ventilate your personal opinion about things and to learn about other things you didn´t know of. good luck!!
