A few simple ways to incorporate marijuana into the basic elements of food preparation have been brought up recently, and I'm interested in trying a hand at it. Only problem is that my roommates are all fairly steadfast in obeying the law and have a number of hangups about odors that don't involve coffee.

very much of a strong odor
only way to do it without an odor is a cold oil extraction over time
pack a bottle of olive oil with finely ground weed..bud and leaf..as much as u can..leave it be for about a month...strain..but u can still smoke the strained weed.. the oil will have most of the thc..and will be very very strong..like take tiny sips..start with an eyedropper till u figure a good dose...i've been sippin the same batch since july..or do a search for canabis tincture and i bet ya find a few other methids that dont cause smells
    but they take time
however, the results are worth it

    You can also:
take a half bottle of hard liquor (like whiskey--I prefer tequilla) and stuff as much weed in the bottle as possible.
Keep in a warm dry place and agitate daily. After a week strain the plant material out (I don't suggest trying to smoke it later) and use the tequilla either straight or in mixed drinks.

the alcahol methods the same principle and yes quicker, but the oil is much nicer in the end, and can be used then in cooking or asa salad dressing or whatever
and, i do recomend smoking what was strained..why waste it? yes its been weakened, so ya might hafta smoke more, but it will get ya high, and i dont mind smokin alil more...why throw it out if it will get ya buzzed?

actualy doin an alcahol batch and an oil batch is nice a well, i find the alcahol based tincture does seem to hit alittle faster when held sub lingualy awhile b4 u swallow, but the oil based just seemed far superuor in overal quality and absolutely in taste..but it does take much more prep time

Interesting...I'll probably try the vegitable oil method next time I get around to buying a reasonable amount to experiment with. But I'll still probably try the stinky alternative, only over at a buddy's house (I forgot that I had the option to do so).

i kno they smelled it everywhere in the neighbourhood really strong..but they were just so impressed by the kitchen they ignored it and just offered to help cook sometime
we even used to cook in a church oven back in the day..lol

I never heard about using oil before. I might try it next time I want to ingest bud, but does it matter what kind of oil I use?

ive used olive and canola oils
i would think the better the oil the better the results
hmm a bong filled with oil..i dunno how that would work..lol
    ya can try it
as for the eggs..it should be fine unless you cook it hot enough to burn the butter
its hard to say..its probly better to cook it in something then to cook something in it
otherwise i think alotta thx will just end up stuck to the pan

I've never tried bubbling anything through a substance as viscous as olive oil. In any case, assuming you could get enough negative pressure through the column of oil to suck the products of ignition through, I think you'd be hard pressed to trap the bubbles in said column before they were able to escape at the top. What's more, I doubt that the interface of the bubbles would be soluable in oil. Nevertheless, I'd still be interested in observing the type of results an experiment like this would yield.

I just had a thought...would the oil would filter the thc out of the smoke before it bubbles out? Because thc is fat-soluble and oil is a fat. Then you would end up with even more potent oil to use. Does this make sense to anybody else?

[IMG]I've placed butter in a pan and several leaves or flowers and as soon as it starts to smell turn off the flame and wipe the butter up onto a piece of bread. It tastes like garlic bread, to me, and the smell isn't bad at all.. it takes almost 45 mins for the body high to come in but it is very smooth and sensual. enjoy... the idea with tequilla sounds good...and the cold extract with olive oil also sounds good..thanks

If I cook cannibutter with just two buds, I will cook it outside. Will my neighbours be able to smell it? And how long will the frying pan smell like weed? And then if I use the cannibutter in a biscuit mix, when I cook it in the stove, how long will the smell take to go away from cooking it in the stove?

OK, I filled a jar with olive oil and leaves, stems, shake and a few smaller buds I was willing to invest in this plan. I am waiting a month.

soaringeagle, or anyone... a couple of questions: how is the high, if I'm using a very nice sativa strain, will it still be only a body high? And, could I use the oil later for cooking without destroying thc? maybe if I leave the weed and heat it up in a saucepan for a meal, I'll get even more thc out of the weed thanks to the heat.
