How often do you say "I Love You" to non-lovers?

I was wondering, how often do you people say "I Love You" to people who you aren't in a relationship with? Like friends, co-workers/classmates, teachers/bosses, cause I say it a lot. Like, a whole lot. And I mean it, cause I'm in love with everyone, and whenever I wrap up a harmonica solo or a folk song or whatever I'm doin' to entertain, I always tell my audience (consisting of non-hippies) that I love every one of them. I mean, I was just wondering what the community sentiment was on this topic.

 

whenever i see any of my friends or people i know, male or female young or old, there is ALWAYS an exchanging of "i love yous" because thats just how we roll in this town

 

How pleasant. When it comes to recieving, the numbers are a lot smaller. Some of the girls I say it to return the favor, and most of the guys are still hung up on "hmm I don't want to say anything that would give people the wrong idea." Cept for the gay guys of course, but they're more fun anyway.

 

Love is too strong of a word to throw around.

Love is a stong word, in a positive way, right? That's all the more reason to say it to as many people as possible. The idea of reserving your love for a select few is a Biblical, established-by-the-system concept, and I don't like it.

But hey, that's just me man.

Usually it's one of those "Aw shit. I love that kid," situations for me.

 

i say it sporadically whenever i get bursts of love for a person... with some people, it's in my goodbyes automatically, but usually, they do something that is just so them and i say "man, i love you". but i hug everyone.

 

It is a part of my vocabulary...I love everyone...even those who happen to hate me.
But...there is love...and LOVE....and Ive a different sort for my lover...when I have one. I say it...and I mean it ..because I show it.

 

Sadly, I was only saying it to one person until recently...

Oddly, and even more sadly, I only got around to saying it OUT LOUD recently too..

To be honest, I have dozens of emotions that I am more willing to share with non-lovers.. They mean alot to those that have them lavished on them. Love is the pinnacle of all those expressions, and should be given with more feeling than the others..

I do love alot of people that I never have to tell that I love..

 

Ahhh yes.....but sometimes just hearing it said can heal a wound...soften a heart...and brighten a day. I only say it if I mean it....and I show it as well as mouth the words.....so that those I say it to...know that it is for real.

 

It's a terrible thing that the word "love" freaks some people out.. And I know it's more than just a part of the reason I use it sparingly.. And I've accepted that it's made me a man of actions.. A person who will do and give alot of things without a second thought..

The poster who said there are different kinds of love, and different meanings of love is right, and sometimes, I would like the strongest meaning of the word to have the strongest of bonds...
