This is the Christmas thread. What are people's plans for Christmas? are you going to dance around a christmas tree, open a few bottles of Moet Champagne, open lots of presents and sit listening to "Oh you shouldn't have", and "Oh gosh, for me, for me?" "Oh yeh, sure it will come in use for the winter. Lovely wooly jumper". ?

Well are there some that are going to volunteer this year? Those in London, there is a soup run taking place on 23 to 30 December. Best go to the main site and apply. I have done mine and hope I can make a difference for someone this year. Just to get away from all the laughter and lavishness of Christmas and palava of trying to find a tree that fits in your lounge. The kids break their toys the day after and you are left with a nasty hole in your wallet plus some rotten presents. Wooly jumpers, 1 pound WH Smith voucher(Last of the big spenders), Homer Simpson socks, t shirt, A-z of London, tourist format.

To those who may say, Christmas is not for ages yet. Trust me, advent calendars are now available. I personally like to eat all the chocolate and then close them up again.

Ah yes. I was just reading about that chinese ship full of toys and things today.

I dunno what i'll do. We don't really celebrate christmas much. Get a couple of vouchers and eat more vegetables than usual.

I normally don't do a whole lot for Xmas, becuase the month of December has never really been a happy time for my family, a lot of people have died (like my mother) in December, and it's really hard for me and the people in my family to be happy around that time. This year I really want to spend my time with friends though, since I can't count on making a good Xmas with my family, I plan to make a good one with someone else, as I havne't enjoyed a good Xmas in years and years...

My birthday's the 29th of December, so I may just ditch Xmas and do something crazy on my birthday...

Ooooo this is a GREAT thread... mainly because I have to teach a lesson on Christmas and I don't know what to talk about... tis been so long since I had a proper Crimbo.

I will be heading back to the UK for a week or so and then back to Praha for New Year!

Always a quite one with my immediate family. We might get a visit from other family if they're down this way but nothing extravagant. The event has always been about the children. They'll be involved in a Sunday club presentation, school choir activities and a carols by candlelight. I just sit back and feel proud.

We've booked a cottage in the welsh mountains from the 21st Dec for a week so we can have a really chilled out time. We'll prob have fireworks for the shortest day/yule thing and then just a few pressies and a bit more special food for Christmas day. Rook's a pagan and I'm a christian so this way we're both happy.
