and they are going to embark on a world tour this next year...... too bad they cant get peter gabriel to rejoin them, or steve hackett?
Who, in the right mind, would go see that crap? I mean without Peter, they would be missing the creative side, but without Steve, they are nothing.
are you kidding?? the invisible touch album was the best piece of work in the whole genesis catalogue, but then they topped that album with "we cant dance" ..... I mean, how can you top those two wonderfully crafted albums??
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, I am not so good at sarcasm, so tell me, are you serious? :dupe:
Phil topped it with 'Against All Odds' - everyone knows that was a rip off of captain beefheart's 'Electricity'
I think even some of Genesis' work with Phil is quite good... at least in terms of commercial 80s pop. 'Home by the Sea,' 'No Reply at All,' 'Land of Confusion,' and a few others I think are pretty good.
mama was ok.I just never understood the two drummers thing - who was it - chester thompson? I guess it could sound ok if you stood in the middle and they actually did variations instead of exactly the same fills or phils
"Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress."
my favourite line in that movie was when christian bale said "Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that I really didn't understand any of their work. It was too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent." lol!!!!!!!!!
I recall being thrown out of my rocker to the Lamb lies down on Broadway one night when a Dutch guy decided to play it at a few hundred decibels on vinyl - yet I never heard it quite the same way ever again as that night when the floor of his room looked like it was a 1000 feet below where I was sitting. Its amazing what a healthy combination of musical and chemical stimulus can do to ones mechanism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eptgke1RDn4 I'd love to watch it but my computer is only one step up from a ZX81
I find Phil very dull for some reason I love listening to Peter sing though. I think I even have one of his albums somewhere
Peter and Steve made that band great IMO, when Peter left, I GUESS I can except Wind & Wuthering and Trick of the Tail as half decent albums, although I would never listen to them again. For me it's all about the Lamb, Foxtrot, and Selling Englad. PS: About the 2 drummer thing, listen to them do Cinema Show live with Chester. Talk about insane drumming!!!!
one of peter gabriels unsung solo songs I always liked is san sancinito - bout the plight of the red indians (i tink)
