Hello all, having some bother with our feline friends. I live in a housing complex and firsly let me say our garden would be impossible to close off. But aye, there's loads of cats kicking around, and they just love shitting in our garden!

It's not that big a deal for the regular plants, but none of us fancy eating herbs out of cat-crap compost and there's only so much room for pots.

So does anyone know of any plants that might deter cats from hanging around?

    Thankin' you :)

The worst enemy a cat has is ... a bigger cat. Bobcats, cougars, etc. prey on them relentlessly when they can. If fox urine doesn't do the trick, I'd try bobcat or cougar urine.

And if that doesn't work ... coyote urine.

Do a Google search for "trapping supplies" and you should find several sources.

I live out in the country and have had just as bad a problem with cats. I use ordinary ground black pepper and it works a treat. The other thing that will put cats off is if you put rough bark mulsh around your plants. Cats seem to prefer the kind of ground that gardeners like to garden with, lovely loamy soil. The other advantage of bark is that it acts as a weed surpressant as well as encouraging worms and becoming a compost material.

That, I would call genius Sea Breeze :sunny:

    Easy, affordable and aromatic!
And bark, makes so much sense. Plus good for the garden.
    Yup, genius :stupid:

Haha, I'm sorry. It really is a good idea. Only this is the first post I've made in which I've discovered you could add funky new smilies. So whilst seeking a second smily to convey how good the advice is, the "I'm With Stupid" one really cracked me up!

Here's what I would of picked had a bottled that one: :spam:

Hahaha, no, just kidding again, made me laugh...

This is the real one: :applause:
