I don't want brands that specifically cater to vegans, but mainstream (for lack of better word) brands whose products are vegan (no animal products, not tested on animals, either). If anyone could help, that'd be great. And please, don't turn this into another anti-make up post. I'm just asking a question. thanks.
http://www.caringconsumer.com has a great very long list of companies that do or don't test on animals, maybe they also have a list for vegan ones, I dunno, you could check it out or email the site
it's pretty hard to find vegan make up and i highly doubt bath a body works is vegan. they may not test on animals but that doesnt make there products vegan. you're probably going to have to find a specialty shop in a big city in your state (prolly chicago) if you want to find make up that fits your lifestyle. it's too bad you don't live in toronto or i could drop a name or two for you to check out.
well all the body shop stuff is vegan and not tested on animals - and it all smells great!! lol. hope that helps! peace and love xxxxx
Is there a Whole Foods Market near you? They have a section called Whole Body where they sell a nice collection of organic and non-animal cosmetics. I don't wear much make-up so i've not bought any, but it all looks pretty nice. They even have a rainbow of nail polish for sale which i'll have to try soon. I have bought several of the brands of lip gloss and they have all been great. If you go onto the Whole Foods website there is a section that talks about the lines of cosmetics they offer. Also, even if there isn't a store near you, you could probably take note of the brands and look for them at your local shops. Hope i've helped.
PETA keeps a list of which companies don't test on animals, and have a symbol for vegan brands. You can find the list here: http://www.caringconsumer.com/page/CompaniesDont.pdf God, I'm an idiot. the same place was already linked to! But for the record, yes, they do have the vegan companies. They're indicated, I believe, with a asterisk. http://www.caringconsumer.com/ingredientslist.html here is a list of animal ingredients rock on, Lindiglo
Some good ones are "Beauty without Cruelty", "ALBA", "Avalon", "Kiss my Face", "Ecco" ....just to name a few.
