oh yah, my point was none of this cost anything, except i think someone had to put a 50 buck cleaning deposit on the meeting room or something (another gift of one or more of the guests), but i'm sure they must have gotten it back cause we left the place in better shape then we found it. =^^= .../\...
we took quite a bit of time to plan ours too. and sent a wish list of 'suggested gifts', stressing of course that all donations were voluntary, to all of the zillions of people we had ever personaly met who didn't dislike us, we invited. i made up formal invitations on the computer and we snailmailed them out to everyone on our list. the outside was a kind of calligraphy picture and the inside included a map of how to get to the place, along with time, date and rsvp request. our list included items from the most expensive and complex to the simplest and virtualy free. including things for the cerimony itself, which were, by the guests, all lent/donated. =^^= .../\...
go to the court house and have a keg party in your dad's basement. that's how my dad's buddy brian did it and i think that's how i want to do it too.
I've always wanted a private wedding on a sunny beach...i am assuming that is cheap. I don't get the whole big wedding or reception deal, why not instead spend it on your honeymoon, the ring or a downpayment on a house.
My boyfriend and I decided to get married soon after we started dating, but we decided to hold off for a couple of years at least. Don't rush into anything, but that's the only obnoxious mom-sounding advice I'll shove on you, lol. Our plans currently consist of the following: We're going to have our wedding during the late spring/early summer at a local Boyscout camp that Dan went to as a child. They've got a stream going through and I've always wanted my wedding at a body of water. We're going to be married by the justice of the peace, most likely, and have the reception at my family's church. I don't expect in all the wedding will cost much more than a couple hundred, but we're definitely going to wait and save. Until we can afford that wedding and are ready to take that step, we plan on getting a common law "license" for insurance and tax purposes after we move out in the next few months. Now, that's not specifically just for the financial benefits, it's also to appease my family, who are not too keen on the idea of me "shacking up." We already act like a married couple, lol. It's easy to have a really cheap wedding, and for a wedding gown, keep your eyes out for prom dresses that are on sale or at thrift stores. You never know, you may find the dress of your dreams for less than $20. You can also hit the fashion and crafts forum here and see if one of the cool mamas there will sew you a dress. They all make beautiful stuff and none of them ask ridiculous prices.
a long cream linen halter or spaghetti strap dress and gardenias on tanned skin...*snaps outta it* ...but wouldn't the smell combination of gardenias and the ocean be beautiful together? That's awesome for you guys!!! Congrats on finding the one
Have a BBQ, spend $100 on meat, have everyone bring a plate. Get a couple of muso friends to play some tunes (6 packs are a great lure) If any of your rellos have their wedding dresses they can be easily altered to be more mod. Buy cheap flower bunches and arrange your own boquets. I think those type of weddings are more fun then the ol' stuffy ladeeda ones
Cost us two hundred bucks for the guy that married us. Maybe double or triple that per your location... We did the whole entire weekend on the beach including hotel room for around $650.00, off season.. Wish the marriage itself would've been as well thought out. (pending divorce)
Why are weddings so expensive. I've never been to a wedding, NEVER EVER. I just don't understand why they are so expensive. :hysterica
I don't get it either. Every wedding I've been has seemed to be some elaborate show for family friends the people actually getting married hardly know. If I ever get married I'll be damned if it turns into that. I think tainting marraige with all of that crap is disgusting.
awweee I am sorry it did not work out. That is exactly what I want. When I was engaged several years ago my fiance's Uncle was a pastor so he was going to marry us in NZ on the beach. I am so glad I didn't get married but I still want to go there, not for my wedding. I know if I get married I want to do it at my favorite beach down here. Where are you from?
yea, somethign nice, secluded from lots of people. only guests would be close family and wicked close friends. really don't want to listen to her ask question about designs or whatever, "will this floral design match with the plates, or does this match better. do the inivitations colors flow with the wedding or should i tweak the color a bit" yea, fuck that shit
Hey everyone.. you're ideas are all cool as hell, as for the dress... it cost me $173.00 a little pricey but at the time I was just thinking "OMG THAT IS SO COOL" Check it out! Even matches my wedding boots, donated by my grandmother.
Whoa.....that is pretty fricken awesome. I hate the typical wedding dress. Like those dresses that woman wear that have the huge puff all around the waist and the bulky corset and then everyone stands around telling the bride that she looks beautiful when she really doesn't. I mean sure, yeah...your hair looks fuckin great but her dress makes her look like a giant snow beast. Not that I would know, but from what I've seen in the movies and the wedding pictures in the newspaper.
best wedding dress compliment of all times thats awesome ya dont look like a giant snow beast whew that was hard to type while laffin that gard
