Jimmy Page wasnt much of songwriter, although the few hes done with zeppelin ofcourse are great but id give plant little more than half the credit, but then again they wrote alot of music together.
Without a doubt, my favorite lyricist is Kris Kristofferson...simply brilliant, and brilliantly simple. Loving Her Was Easier (than anything I'll ever do again) I have seen the morning burning golden on the mountain in the sky Aching with the feeling of the freedom of an eagle when she flies Turning on the world the way she smiled upon my soul as i lay dying Healing as the colors in the sunshine and the shadows of her eyes Waking in the morning to the feeling of her fingers on my skin Wiping out the traces of the people and the places that i've been Teaching me that yesterday was something that i never thought of trying Talking of tomorrow and the money, love and time we had to spend Loving her was easier than anything i'll ever do again Coming close together with a feeling that i've never know before,in my time She ain't ashamed to be a woman or afraid to be a friend I don't know the answer to the easy way she opened every door in my mind But dreaming was as easy as believing it was never gonna end And loving her was easier than anything i'll ever do again
Peter Gabriel!!!! - Genesis rocks, and this guy had a whole new world in his head.... listen to his songs!
I would have to go with George Harrison also becasue his solo stuff and along with his beatles stuff is absolutly amazing. Also i think Dylan is the other great musical lyric genius.,
I love Bradley Knowles... "Well, life's too short, so love the one you got 'Cause you might get runover or you might get shot Never start no static I just get it off my chest Never had to battle with no bulletproof vest Take a small example, take a tip from me Take all of your money, give it all to charity..." -What I Got (reprise) It's got a good feel to it
