So there seems to be more of a push lately to make salvia illegal. The stories you hear in the news of some guy doing something stupid while on salvia are very depressing. I always find myself wondering how different it would have been if the person had been with me and I had been the one to introduce them to salvia. I've found that when people are properly instructed about salvia and have a proper sitter, they love it and there are no negative events that follow. If there weren't idiots running around using salvia to just get as fucked up as possible, it would stay out of the public eye and hopefully remain at it's current legal status.

    Here's my proposal:
    1. Get a group of people together who know a lot about salvia and are experienced users. (Done... that describes the people here)
    2. Agree on certain guidelines for first time salvia users. Just some Do's and Don't's.
    3. Compile these into a nice, easy to read, one or two page document. Kinda like the first timer guide here, just a concise hard copy.
    4. Print off a whole bunch of these and take them to shops that you know sell salvia.
    5. Politely ask them to hand them out whenever a customer buys salvia. Or at least ask them to read it over before they buy it. Obviously this would only apply to first time buyers... you would just have to ask them I suppose.

So this is all assuming that the owner or employee of the store doesn't already educate people about salvia and/or doesn't know much about it themself. We don't want to offend the store owners, or seem like we're soliciting anything. Make it clear that it is for educational purposes, and the legality of salvia is at stake. If you have time try to give the person adequate knowledge of salvia so they can spread the word about safe use.

I really feel this would decrease improper use and help salvia keep a low profile.

    Thoughts?

    -Mike

Waste of time. Cigarettes say they kill, kids smoke them. Commercials say meth kills, kids cook it. The Man says drink and drive go to jail, lose your license, pay 5k - kids booze cruise.

There will always be a few young people that have to screw it up for everyone, and we were those young people at one point or another. That's life I guess. Enjoy it while you can, grow as much as you can so youll never run out. I give it a max 5 years before it's banned, salvia is a very intense herb - VERY intense.

Yeah giving up is a good strategy too... (sarcasm is ever so-slightly). But, seriously most headshops have already taken care of that themselves. They are ran by serious users mostly... THe real problem is the online community selling it as a legal high. How can we stop them? Horribly, it might the one thing that could mean it's end. Mass education, good education must be instilled in the voters, the people that make the rules. That will take quite a few pamphlets that I can't afford. SO yeah, id say 5-10 years depending on these "legal herb" assholes who would rather see a beautiful plant and a hope for the nation destroyed if they can turn a quick buck. Fuck'en pricks.

Well pardon me for coming up with a solution. I guess we should all just let it become illegal.

I think the best thing we can do is just keep quiet about Salvia. Right now it's a relatively unknown drug since it doesn't get any attention by the media, and as such the idiots that believe every word the media preaches don't have any reason to rally against it.

Whatever does end up happening regarding the legality of Salvia, it doesn't really matter that much to me since I'm now growing my own.

Ya ever headshop I have bought from has asked me if I have done it before, then offered a pamphlet, then gave me a verbal summary anyway.
If you buy it off the internet, you should just use the internet to research it. I doubt many people buy drugs they've never heard of off the internet anyway.

That's strange. I don't buy it from head shops but whenever I go in and see them selling it I'll talk to whoever is working about it. I haven't found one person that knew jack about salvia. I guess if most shops do tell people about it and hand shit out then whatever..

'Twas a decent idea though. I'd thought of it myself but seriously how would you even distribute it. THat kind of project does take quite a bit of money.
