Could one possibly extract the alkaloids from cactus powder using a butane solvent in the same manner as a "honey oil" extraction with THC?

    possibly

it's called SCE, supercritical fluid extraction, and is normally done with CO2.

then again, SFEs are normally done on non-polar plant oils, and mesc base isn't exactly an oil, it's a slightly polar, caustic resin. extraction with chloroform would probably be better, yieldwise

Yeah but you know , personally I cant find shit like a co2 extractor or chloroform...

Itd be cool to try the butane method.

ahh, well..give it a shot then, and let us know how it goes. SFE does sound pretty cool.

if no dice, then mesc is always soluble in ethanol (as in everclear, or even vodka (though you'd have to do a lot of drying if you soak it in vodka))

lately I've been doing ethanolic extractions (via soxhlet) with capsaicinoids, the hotness from chile peppers. I have this ridiculously hot, deep red alcohol/capsaicinoid solution, tasted some from the tip of my finger, and burned the sh1t outta myself.

    OK What I will do.

Buy 30 grams of peruvian torch. Powder it . Butane extract with lotsa bottles the way im used to with weed, evaporate 24 h. Split it in two.

When I do have some spare money though.

Damn good luck with your chili sauce ;p

I've heard that extractions from black pepper can be useful for certain things. ;) But I'm sure you already know about that.

:)... i bought 150g once with some friends and the dude accepted 120$.. although they were a crappy batch. try getting the square dark green skins.. that have a rough feeling, the yellow ones cut in different shapes that are smooth are less potent part of the cacti

I wish san pedro was like pot, where you could isomerize the other alkaloids into the one you want. (acidic isomerization of cannabinoids/cannabinols into straight THC)
