A Hipforums UK radio station!

I'm gonna set one up for us all, I had one before (black dog radio). Did pretty well for what it was

Now then, I was hoping we could all have a hand in it

Before I do it all, would anyone be interested in having weekly slots etc for a couple of hours or more, at set times?

Its easy as pie to set up

I'm hoping our Jonny or Jon would do a talk show

Stuff like that

I don't think I'd be able to do a weekly slot, student times just don't allow for regularity. However I would be able to contribute at irregular times. I can arrange that with you maybe a couple of days in advance....

It's fine if you can dedicate lots of time to it... If it was all organised properly and more people were involved and specific slots etc it could work...

Black Dog fell down because of a lack of the above. It was too much for just me and C to run by ourselves...

 

Why not have a chillout session with some chillout Ibiza? We all need some :chill: in our lives.


Also have specific theme weekends and exclusive news on events taking place.stuff important to hippies? Plus if you could like get some sponsors to have some live hippy gatherings.

 

Any news on where this is going? As from about a weekish I might be able to provide somewhere to host a shoutcast server if needed...

 

Aye I might be interested in contributing if this were to go ahead... still not entirely convinced about streaming media, podcasts are the future, man:sunglasse

Basically downloadable mp3s linked to a blog or suchlike with an RSS feed that people can subscribe to ... I'm just learning about the RSS side of it but it looks piss easy. Just need some webspace...

 

Without trying to sound patronising, if it was easy as pie to set up then everyone would have radio. There'd be ChavFM throughout the UK talking about the latest pair of burbery trackes and Argos bling 24 bloody 7. Hell, even I'd end up thinking 'fuck it!' and there'd be an hour a day of Ian's fuzzy buzz ball stories in which he recites acid trips in huge detail and chats about the dinner he ate before smoking himself into an autonomous zone; live on air.
So, how do these things work?..

 

You go onto http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk/ you sign up, you download the stuff you need, pay a monthly amount for how ever many users you want to listen.. you press play on the music player
and you will be featured on here www.shoutcast.com

Voila!

AS I said.. its very easy to set up

 

I'd recommend setting it up for windows media player though, as we found out that not too many people use winamp it seems these days...
