why is weed so hated?

ive been a member of this glorious community for about 2 weeks now and you all have great insight leaving me to wonder, WHY THE HELL IS MARIJUANA ILLEGAL?? seriously if some politicians saw this site and how most of us balance drugs and use them for spiritual healing/religon/art/music ect. we could swing some opinions........

yeaaah but then again there are people who dont smoke for those reason, like me.

Its illegal cuz the government and community are just full of hypocritical bastards. Cant get much more simple than that.

If the government saw how much more damage smoking and alcohol does, maybe, MAYBE it would be legal. But they'll never see that, they're a bunch of sad fucks.

 

Well we know how much damage alcohol does, but we saw the even more damage it did as being ilegal in the 1920's.

It's not just government but social attitudes that have come over during the decades, I mean look at the the 3 marijuana propositions that were on the ballot last week, they all failed.

 

one reason why [i think] its illegal is because marijuana provokes creativity and thats bad for anybody or salesman tryin to make money.

it also promotes free thinking which is bad for any politican.

AND there are just so many haters out there.

 

Actually, the reason it became illegal in the first place is because the government blamed weed for making black males go crazy and rape white women. Real shit.

I'm sure it has something to do with it. If it wasn't made illegal back then, who's to say it would have been made illegal later? If people weren't so racist back then, maybe the government would have never thought of weed as a bad thing. Because when something gets a negative stigma about it, it's hard for people to view it as anything but negative, even after it is proven not to be as bad a people once thought it was.

But the original reason it was made illegal on the national level was because the government believed that it made black men rape white women.

both mexicans and blacks where targeted when deciding to control marijuana. not just one or the other.

 

i don't think the government really did believe that, they made it up so all the white people would go bananas and give popular support to the prohibition of weed.
