I'm leaving for Vietnam around the end of december and I'm trying to obtain my travel visa. I've been to teh vietnam embassy website and they are unclear about how long it takes, how much it costs and they want me to send my actual passport to them... and to top it off they dont answer emails.... Sooooo... Where else can I get one of these cheaply, I dont even know what cheap would be as I havent seen a cost yet...... Anyone got a website I can go to? thanks...

There are tonnes of agencies that will sort out your visa for you, just look online. They'll charge you extra for the courier service but if you live far from an embassy then this may be the only option and it's not really that expensive at all, probably cheaper than doing it yourself. All you usually need to do is print off the visa application and fill it in, then send it away with your passport and the cash to the agency. You should get it back after a few days with a nice shiney new visa.

Failing that just get someone at Khao San Road to do it when you get to Bangkok (assuming you are flying via bangkok), probably even cheaper. There are hundreds of agents that do this strung out everywhere you'll eb spoilt for choice.

    Good luck

So I do have to send them my actual passport? it took me months to get it. I'd hate for it to get lost or something, can you send a copy of your passport?
