I can't stand to watch them. Not anymore. I could watch Saw, but not Hostel. I haven't tried to watch any since then. They creep me out too much!

    Peace and love

I cant believe these pass for entertainment, I know violence and gore sells all to well. But man, I can remember seeing rated R movies when I was a kid in the early to mid 90s and these movies make them look like Disneyland....some sick sadistic shit.
People are being conditioned to violence and torture for a reason people.....what is it? Perhaps its endemic of the truly sick and evil shit they really have waiting, or would like to unleash on the masses (they being the twisted elite class, think Bohemian Grove, Illuminati, etc..) They are already practicing at Gitmo and other foreign detainment centers.
Im glad I watched Hostel after I returned to the USA from backpacking Europe. Anyway, I watched my ass and never got into any situations where I could be taken advantage of. Really, some very good people over there too.

We just need to see past the prevalent culture of violence, needless competition, and celeb worship in popular culture today.

Lets start by saying that the 70s were way worse in terms of gore, there were so many more brutal, exploitive, gory movies being released then, its just slowly become more and more acceptable to show such violence, where as sex is still pretty uber-censored.

I though Hostel sucked, so did saw1 2 and 3, as did the hills have eyes if you were drop that name. I love gore and all, dead alive got me into horror movies when i was 13, but cmon, Hostel was pure crap, Hills have eyes somewhat paid an ok homage to the exploitation flicks of the 70s but was still pretty lame, definate letdown from Ajas debut.

    Same here.
How about we film a thousand cows getting slaughtered? That'd be a BLOCKBUSTER!
