Looking for a place to call home?

Hey there: My son and I are looking for a place to call HOME. He is grown, well sorta grown up. In size and age anyways. He is 24 but more like a young teen. He has a mild mental handicap and gets SSI. I have a few talents. I can cook. Hippie, Vegetarian, Southern, Campfire. I do needlecrafts (knit, crochet, tat (lace done with a shuttle) and would love to learn more. I can also sew and have made a hippie style patchwork skirt in times past without a pattern and by hand. I am well versed in chlidcare. I am a 47 year old grandma of a hippie chick. We are looking for either a commune type setting or someone who has some extra space in the country. We are currently in Mountain City, Tennessee. Living in public housing. We also wouldn't mind traveling around to gatherings and such with a kitchen or just full time on the roaders. As long as we can get mail and keep up with the SSI obligations. I was working some in NY before we came down here to live on a friends land but it did not work out. I may have a job soon, but it is hard in so small a town and no transport. I am not a vegetarian and neither is my son but we do eat that way often and we could adapt. Harold has a strong back and is willing to do most simple chores. He is a great wood gatherer for campfires and was learning to chop wood last winter. He is special but fairly normal. Anyway, if you have a place or know of one give me a holler.

I am in a group of about 3 single moms that are tired of searching for community and not finding it. We are looking to start our own community in Oklahoma or wherever we can find cheap land that will support a garden. Still in the planning stage, but with alot of passion and a burning need to be free of these societal entrapments, we know we will succeed. PM me if you want more info...good luck...
