Can anyone here suggest any good zelda style games for the Gamecube? I'm a huge Zelda fan, have been seince the SNES, and in my opinion it's going from strength to strength (I'm one of the few people that actully liked the wind waker graphics). Anyway, I've completed all the zelda games, but I need more. So I'm looking for Zelda style games. Two very good examples are 'Star Fox Adventures' and 'Beyond Good & Evil', but I've completed them both, and still want more. So what can you suggest? Thank you.
there's one, i don't know if it ever came out for the gamecube or not, but it's called dark cloud. it's a little like zelda. by the way, i hate the wind waker graphics at first, but now i love it. it's kinda cute, actually.
It looks like an interesting game, alas it's PS2 only Nevermind. Thank you for the suggestion however
Hmm.. I use to have gamecube.. Then i got xbox for a better game selection.. Im trying to think of some games that I had.. Super mario sunshine?
So far so good *confused* you're being ironic right? Good game, but not quite what I had in mind. Thank you anyway. Re xbox: I want an xbox - not becaause of a better range of games (IMO some of the best games EVER have had the Nintendo logo on them), but because of it's online access.
If you're thinking about getting an Xbox, don't. Just take the money you would have spent on an Xbox, the games and the LIVE subscription and upgrade your PC. Xbox is really just a weak PC anyway IMO, and all the best Xbox games get ported to the PC anyway (KOTOR, Halo, Splinter Cell, etc.) PS2 is the console to have if you really want variety and depth. As far as GC games, I was playing Tales of Symphonia recently, that was pretty good. I hear Metroid Prime is good as well if you're looking for action. On the whole though, not a lot of quantity to be had on the Gamecube.
I'd still like one, just because of the fact it's so simple. I've been gaming online via my PC for years now, and while it's good to a degree, there is a lot of pissing about you need to do, and if you don't have an UBER UBER machine, you'll not get the best graphics or nowt - at least using the xbox everyone is equal. Tales of Symphonia, I've heard of that, look a bit Final Fantasy to me, which is great, but not the style of game I'm currently looking for. I went out and got Prince of Persia today, so far it's looking good, but again not the type of game I want. I think you've hit the nail on the head when you said Metroid Prime, that's for sure got the correct merchanics (although I'm not a fan of the first person view so much), but alas, I've also completed that (LOL). As for your remark about quantity, I guess I have to agree with you. but that's because Nintendo go for quality (IMO) - sure the PS2 has like the largest collection of games available - but they are mostly crap - sure, you've got games like Final Fantasy, GTA3, etc.. but they alone are not enough IMO. woah, sorry about that, got a bit defensive then LOL
Hes right dude. Xbox live is NOTHING to get excited over. By the way, I'm sorry you bought a game cube. Weak entertainment and they done fucked up metroid
Don't be sorry - I Love my cube, it's got some of the best games ever made on it: Zelda Wind Waker (and all the N64 ports AND the new one soon to be released) Eternal Darkness (This game is in my 'top ten of all games' list) Resident Evil Remake (plus all the new ones) Metroid Prime (and it's soon to be released sequal) Starfox Adventures Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Super Smash Bro. Melee Super Mario Sunshine Pikmin (and Pikmin 2) and more... .. and they are just a few of the exclusives, lets not forget all the great multiformat games that you can get on the cube (beyond good and evil, price of persia, TimeSplitters 2, etc etc etc etc etc. IMO, the only thing the PS2 has going for it is Final Fantasy, and the only thing the xbox has going for it is the fact it's online. Anyway, please lets not turn this into a flame war, it's pointless. I love my cube, you don't - fair enough, end of story. Now back to the question - games... anymore suggestions?
Eh, the Hobbit looks way too kiddy, even for the Gamecube (I'll let the topic author decide though). Baten Kaitos looks good but I'm not exactly sure when it's coming out. As for the PS2, now it's my turn to get defensive. Nintendo shoots for quality, and it's games are good quality mostly, but there just aren't enough of them. PS2 has quality and quantity, thanks to third party support (something Nintendo really lacks). Off the top of my head I can name Silent Hill 2 and 3, Both Ratchet and Clanks, Both Jak games, Xenosaga, and Final Fantasy X. Those are all games I have played recently. I did a gamespot search for PS2 games that received an 8 or higher score, and 200 games fit the bill: http://www.gamespot.com/finder/findgames.html The same search on Gamecube only got 92: http://www.gamespot.com/finder/findgames.html Plus, Gamespot only lists 200 games max on any search, so there are definitely over 200 games that received 8+ on PS2. I'd say that's a considerably greater amount of good games on PS2 than Gamecube. Sorry if I'm being an ass, but I'm a Sony fanboy of sorts.
It's aimed at kids, but kiddy games can be fun. Not this particular one I'll grant you but they can be. I've only played the pc demo of it and it's pretty awful. Might be different on the Gamecube though, I couldn't say. It's very like Zelda. It consciously tries to imitate Zelda in pretty much every way imaginable.
