Seriously. There are so many things that are important in a band and you ahve to find a person that can match all of the requirements. Wow.... a band is just as much a social issue as it is a talent issue. If the members can't itneract not only while playing/improving but just in general then it won't work. I found a really really good keyboard palyer and guitar/bass player but the keyboard guy can be a super douche. It jsut seems to me like unless he's the center of attention throughout the entire song then he doesnt enjoy it where as with the other guy when we'd go off and start jammin somethin he coudl really follow us and get off with it, he was super cool. I dunno, just a rant. Anybody else have trouble finding musicians worth a shit?

being in a band is like having a girlfriend. First it's great, you're havin fun hangin out the sex is great you're thinking you really dig this chick. but then those little things start to bother you and you disagree and you argue and pretty soon you can't think of anything besides getting out.

but that one girl you meet that really does it for you, the one you dig so much you have no problem overlooking her little quirks, it all just fits right, that's the one you stick with. you try to settle with a girl for any reason, you won't be happy.

you're in a band, you dig the other musicians, the jams are great, but it's that extra vibratory feeling you get that lets you know these are the musicians you want to make something happen with.

I find quality musicians that I gel with about as often as I find a quality girl that I dig.

One day I want to have both at the same time.

I jam with friends I already love dearly, and form bands through that. A lot of people are very musical, so might as well.

I have problems like that all the time. I got my friend to play bass for me because I know hes fantastic, but half way through our first rehersal he was rewriting all our stuff to suit him

    Henry.

We should do a cyberjam someday.

I used to do it back in the day, when I was a member over at Harmony Central fora.

I'm in the mood to record things now.

Being in a band is a bit like being in a family. The best part is when you give birth to a plugger and a manager who will sign you up to a ------ amount contract.

Actually, it was a neat concept back when I was into it, but looking back, it was a pain if you get really dedicated to it and are set on deadline entries. We had a syndication kind of deal going on where people would post recordings of full songs, single tracks, clips, etc. whatever, and you added onto that. People usually voted at the end on who had the best jam and won an award.

You could end up with a masterpiece, utter crap, or a bunch of weird shit.

    That is true.

But the thing we focused on was the outcome of blindly playing an instrument, and it generally panned out pretty well.

that sounds more like a science experiment than a jam to me. I bet it would interesting though.
